They updated the article on the Quakes site to include the lineup details:
So Moreno and Ike each only played 45 minutes. Every field player who is healthy (and not likely to start Sunday) for the Quakes played EXCEPT HUSTEDT. I really wonder what the deal is with him.

Guys with * before their name are Academy players, guys with ^ before their names are trialists.

Looks like we are trialing a new CB:

Also sounds like Bingham played really well:

Came back from the reserve game against Chivas. Final score: 1-1. It is the reverse of Sunday's game. SJ scored just minutes into first half. It was a low cross from Sercan on the right and Pizzaro put it in the net. Then Chivas equalized in the last min with a beautiful freekick outside the box.

Can't read too much into the game but I made some observation.

    1. The pace of the game was very fast. Chivas seemed to control the ball better but I think SJ had more scoring chances from counter attack.

    2. Sercan made some good runs but he missed 2 one-on-one chances in the 2nd half. I think those misses came back and haunt us. Also, the later part of 1st half he got pretty frustrated by the ref and I think Ring yelled at him. His partner, Pizzaro scored but he didn't do much. He is tall but lacks size and speed. Reminded me Levesque.

    3. Garza had a similar situation. He started well and his speed and dribbling showed. However, as the game went on, he kind of disappeared and got frustrated. He started to complain to the ref a lot and showed he could be hot-headed. When he was subed out in the second half, he didn't look happy. Not sure if he was unhappy that he was yanked or for his own performance. The physical trainer sat with him on the side away from the bench and talked to him.

    4. The other midfielders: Ampai worked hard but contributed not much offensively. He was muscled out rather easily. Alexandre got 2 yellow and sent off. He had size but didn't read the game pass the ball well. I think Ellis had a good game and he was all over the field. IN general, he was not fast chasing down the ball but he looked faster with the ball on his feet. He was rather indecisive and held the ball for too long in the first half, but he did better in the second. Made a great pass to Sercan leading to a 1-on-1.

    5. The backline did well. Opara was very vocal and screamed at Garza and Ellis the whole first half. Ring played as CB and he did well. Suggs as LB focused mostly on his defensive duty and did not make any mistake. The RB didn't have his name on the back and he also looked OK in the second half.

    6. Bingham was solid. Made a great diving save in the second half and didn't have much problem with balls coming his way. The Chivas goal was a nicely done freekick. Bingham's destribution was pretty accurate and for a few times he could drop the ball to Ellis on the right midfield isolating the Chivas LB.

    7. Cronin came in at the later part of second half. Another player came in for Sercan. The only thing I can say is the guy was super fast.

    8. In the second half, SJ gave up too many freekicks in the dangerous area and the last one led to the equalizer.

    9. Good to see Salinas, Chavez and Bernadez training on the side. We need them.

How did Zayner do? hes a guy thats been sticking around it seems. Hes not a bad option for depth as a body behind Beita.

Good to see Opara bossin, thats good stuff. As well as Ring getting run outs at central defense. Sounds like he could be our emergency jack of all trades guy. Sounds like Alexandre is a walking card machine and could be pretty far down the pecking order because of that. Guess Hustedt will get his shot next week unless we rotate Ring up back to d-mid. And it sounds like teams know Ampais game is to just bully him around to neutralize him. Im not sure how much he can improve on that given he is just a small dude. It sounds like he is Freddy Adu-lite; has some fancy footwork but a gentle breeze can knock him around. Thats why these guys are in the reserves though, to hopefully develop them.

According to the game report this would be Brian Randall, who is on the U18 Academy team. Maybe something to look forward to?

When you say the 'only thing', does that mean he offered pretty much nothing else, or that was what made him noticeable?

He is kind of tall-ish like most CF, and his upper body seems strong. In comparison the legs are skinnier. I think he played about 10 min or so at the end. During that part of the game, Chivas basically had most of the possession and almost all the Quakes were defending the1 goal lead. Even Ellis tucked in the middle in front of the backline a few times to defend. Most of the time the team just cleared the ball up field. Given that, Randall didn't have much to show offensively. However, his speed was showcased when he came from a long way to chase down the Chivas CB and the ball. He was able to catch up with the CB when he started his run many many yards behind. He almost got the ball and forced the CB to play it back to the keeper. The whole SJ bench including the first team players in street clothes were applauding his effort. We the spectactors were amazed by his speed. There was another occasion he showed his speed but I could not recall the details.

    Hope that helps.

" ....at Red Bull Arena with a fractured collarbone after being tackled by New York's Rafa Marquez." If I were writing that, I am afraid I would not be that f'ng diplomatic.

Nice to see him score. Anyone know how Alberto Navarro, Yousef Samy, Josh Suggs, Cesar Diaz Pizarro ,Ellis McLaughlin even in a losing effort? I mean I know its only a reserve match and the game doesn't really count but I just want to know how they played together skill wise....

    Just curious...
