They had a 150m budget this season and to go from that to 100m in 1 year is very shameful. I know money isnt everything and Montpellier had a 35m budget but this is OM we are talking about. Even Lille's budget is going up to 80m this year and will continue to go up.

if they use part of that money to buy a clue on how to run a football club they will do better with 100 mil than 150. but the way the club is run now they would fail with 500 million at their disposal.

They had initially promised a 120-130m budget so thats why this is hard to swallow. Sell your best players and replace them with cheaper players isnt a recipe for success. It will be hard for them to finish in the top 3 with that strategy espcially with a poor youth academy.

Lille wants Nene and Jallet I read. OM can not afford those players. :)

Lille are the current kings of the transfer window if they get Martin and Kalou and because PSG is only close to signing 1 guy (Lavezzi) and people expected them to sign someone better. Lille will not be too dependent on Hazard now which will make the team better. This team is gonna be so balanced at every position. Now they have to work on the back and sign a central defender and hope they dont lose Debuchy.

Kalou, Roux, Martin, and Payet will have step up their play; inorder, to replace Hazard's and Cole's combined production. Lille needs to go after Willy Boly since Auxerre is getting have been relegated. Debuchy is as good as gone, based on the way he is playing during the Euros. PSG is going to sign 2 or 3 big names this Summer. For their centerback , I would go after Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Greece, he's a bull and has had very good season in Germany. Schalke would want huge sum for him, but he's just 20.

Joe Cole wasnt a flop but he was far from a rousing success. For a CB I heard about Zebina but he is old and on the downslope but he did have a good year at Brest. I agree Debuchy is probably gone but I wish some of these Lille players would display some loyalty and want to stay. They could lose Chedjou as well and losing 3 starters for 2 years in a row doesnt sit will with me.

Cole my haven been a flop, by judging from his past standards, but he had a decent season. If I were Lille I would let my young CBs play most of the games, and use Zebina in spot duty. He's a one year fix at best, then they would be in the same spot next year. I think we would see more loyalty from Ligue 1 players, If Ligue 1 clubs other than PSG could pay massive wages.

So do Arsenal and Newcastle have more French internationals than English internationals ? Yeah soon Newcastle will have more French internationals than PSG goes. Damn, I hate modern football so much.

very interesting, another step for mhsc becoming like another bordeaux
btw anyone know if mounier can play as a striker? I didn't see Nice last season but I thought mounier was going to be giroud's replacement

Mounier really isn't a striker... don't think he's Giroud's replacement, just a player who will help the attack. After what Spain are doing with their 4-6-0, maybe MHSC will do that with Mounier or Cabella. I'm half kidding though I expect as SB noted they will get a true #9 outside the country.

    1. Mounier has always impressed me whenever I've watched Nice play so I think that's a great signing, probably will play on the left wing I assume. And I wouldn't knock Herrera just yet, Tino Costa was just an "unknown Argentinian" (he even played in the Guadelopan league before moving to France) and Estrada was another successful South American signing (albeit a bit more high profile) so they seem to have decent scouts when it comes to that continent.
