I hope he's not being brought in to replace Sow. You said Sow is going to Liverpool but they also wanted Roux in the past so why do they think Sow is better now ?

He's better than Jelen and DeMelo but if they are trading him for Sow then I'm not sure I like it. This could be another scam like 10 m for Payet. Roux's goals to games ratio doesnt compare with Giroud and Gameiro.

If Nolan Roux ends up doing well in Lille then I'll admit I'm wrong but this seems likes a money grab to me because Moussa Sow doesnt want to go to Turkey but he's going there because they are offering Lille the most money. I think this is a gamble to ditch your best striker and a guy whos been very prolific in Lille so we will see how this turns out. Ambitious teams dont normally do something like this. I dont know why they couldnt wait until June to sell him his contract isnt expiring in June.

    1) Sow wanted a top 3 contract
    2) Lille couldn't
    3) assuming he would never repeat a pichichi season he's sold to the club who will grant his wish
    4) Nolan "Mini-Torres" Roux replaces him

Roux's profile is what Rudi Garcia had lost with Gervinho. It's a perfect long-term reinforcement for Lille. Well done. If Brest stays in L1 everybody will be happy !

not to mention that scoring for brest is not like scoring for lille. it's not a one man show.
not likely to happen as the people at the helm
in lille are considerably more competent than at bordeaux.

I'm not convinced that Lille will remain at the top after this season. I've the feeling that they have made a lot of mistakes during the last summer transfer window. If I remember correctly, they signed Rodelin, Jelen, Basa, Rozenhal definitively, Joe Cole on loan, Payet and Pedretti. Gervinho, Cabaye, Rami and Frau left. We can make a quick assessment :

    - Pedretti : a mistake. He doesn't compute with the way Lille was playing during the past seasons. Pedretti is the guy who is good at long passes to look for players who are good at counter-attack while Lille playstyle was based on short passes, duplications :)confused:) controlling the pace of the game. He is the exact oppositive. Not to mention that he's also doing a lot of vicious fools which I don't like. It's a sign of being beat and not of control of the midfield. Cabaye - even though he was probably the "less important" player in the trio Mavuba, Balmont & Cabaye - was more appropriate for the way Lille was playing.

    - Cole : decent. He benefits a lot from his good image and the absence of pressure at Lille. He's doing decent but it's far from being impressive.

    - Payet : failure. Too expensive, 9M€ and he was supposed to be Gervinho's replacement...Gervais likes to start wide in order to cut in the center with Lille's offensive minded left and right backs stretching the opponent defense. He's also capable to play deep, to destabilize a defense with his dribbles. However, he's not a good finisher despite his stats during the past season. He has not been replaced efficiently.

    - Jelen : failure. After his long absence during the last season at Auxerre, he never came back to a good level so it seems like a panic option near the end of the transfer window after the failure Park.

    - Basa : so so. A fairly good player. Injury prone, though.

    - Rozenhal : he's bad and has always been bad. Impossible to understand why they kept him even as back up.

    - Rodelin : don't know him.

    - Park : how can you be interested in a player with no resale value because of military duty, when the way your club is working is to sell players... Plus, he was supposed to be a back up and his salary higher than most starters'. It's ridiculous, the other players would have asked for an increase of salary right away. It's not a proof of good management.

As for the winter transfer window, I'll only give my opinion on Obraniak. I don't understand what Garcia has done with him during this season. He's a very very good back up in my eyes. He's really a good player. It was a huge mistake to let him go.

It reminds the early 90's and the panini album with the shiny stickers for the club emblems. I'm not sure it's a good thing. LOSC, the flavor of your childhood. :ROFLMAO: So 90's, so ugly.

And their new home jersey isn't any better :

I like the look of the new logo, the look of the new stadium but I could go with out that collar area of the new kit.

That new logo is hot, and once again, the collar - ugh.

I hope to get a t-shirt with the new logo from a buddy in Lille.
