I don't believe he is. He is UCF's lead radio voice, and since our Baseball team has blown up in popularity this year, he's been more busy. At least that's the excuse I've made up for it. I don't know why he's not doing it this year exactly. Also, we have good announcers, but our stream production value sucks. No graphics at all. I don't think I've even seen a replay. I can't say anything about our games on BHSN since I don't have Bright House.
Couldn't make it to the Dayton game last night so I watched it online.....needs work. The camera kept changing between a zoomed in and zoomed out view. Didn't see the goal Dayton scored because the camera was zoomed in on one of the sidelines after a throw in. Camera man didn't follow the play after the throw in was taken.
[quote=" Rochester does a good job overall (even if there commentators are big homers) but for some reason, my sound is always a second or two ahead of the video. There feed is the only one that happens with though[/quote] As I expected. The Rochester broadcast was excellent. There guy will be MLS soon.
You sure have been championing his cause for a while. And by "for a while," I mean "with most of your 25 lifetime posts."
I don't know if you're American or English, but it's nice to hear an American soccer announcer who knows the game. Rochester's Joe Guliano fits the bill. For me, all the English accents sound the same on soccer coverage. I have and always will champion the American announcers. JP Dellacamera, Rob Stone, Jack Edwards, etc.... If I am missing anyone, please let me know. I would love to uncover more American soccer announcers.
That's not my point. I wasn't saying a word about Joe Guliano, American announcers or English announcers. You claim to be a Harrisburg fan, yet you've never posted in their forum. You've never posted anywhere in eight months other than threads about broadcasters or broadcasting and you've invoked Guliano's name time and again - so much, in fact, and to the exclusion of other topics that my guess is you're either his agent, related to him, or him. Which is fine, just don't be so obvious about it.
The stream I got from Rochester had a very low frame rate, probably like 5 fps and it wasn't very good in my opinion. Joe was solid as always but I really just wish with the money they have, they could put out some better video quality.
Kennt, No, not Joe. We played together in college and I have always been a fan when I lived in Rochester before moving all over the place. Maybe it just gives me that hometown comfort. Sorry if I am trying to blow him up. I just got an email saying you are one of the good American soccer broadcasters. Where can I see/hear your soccer work? As I mentioned earlier......MORE good American soccer voices are needed.
Kenn worked some of the USL Pro matches on Fox Soccer, including the 2011 Championship Game. But that only scratches the surface of his experience.
I think that the Rhinos stream this week was exceptional compared to some of their ones last year, and last week. Joe Guiliano did great, but even the video quality was much better, and the audio was synchronized not 9 seconds behind like last year. My ratings of each team's stream out of 10 are Harrisburg- 9/10 Rochester Rhinos- 8.5/10 Orlando City- 8/10 Wilmington- 7.5/10 Charleston Battery- 7.25/10 Dayton Dutch Lions- 6.5/10 LA blues 6.5/10 Antigua Barracuda- 4/10
WE ACTUALLY HAVE A CLOCK!!! Our video feed is rigged so it goes through to the scoreboard. What you guys see on USL Nation is what we see in the stands, and also now what is shown on Bright House Sports Network (hopefully to the exception of the internal OSG's).
