I guess I would argue with it. While the very patterns of life have changed for all the survivors, they have changed the most for Carl. All of the survivors have become loners, isolated in their own fear and mistrust, but Carl has the least safety net. He has no peers, what with the hispanic couple taking their kids away when the crew left the quarry and with the death of Sophia. He has a clueless mom who has no natural second to help her watch Carl, and a father who is wearing the conflicting goals of the group on his shoulders, so he is the one who must leave the comfort of whatever relative safety they have. His parents are torn between wanting to protect him, and give him whatever semblance of a childhood remains, and the need for him to grow up quickly because mucking about in a streambed brings such horrible consequences. What's left for an 11 year old? In many ways, I find Carl to be the most interesting character on the show.
If anyone is interested in reading the comics, Amazon has the Compendium One which is the first 48 volumes together for $35 down from like $80. I just picked it up. I've never read a comic book in my life before so this should be interesting.
I agree completely. I hope he gets more airtime because he has an opportunity to be the most interesting character on the show by far. Being 11, he has so much to learn and a lot of development as a person left and he is the only one in the group that is going to have that happen in this new world.
I've been buying them for iPad - but I think you mean 48 issues right? The iPad versions are about $5 a volume and I think have 4-5 issues per volume.
This review sums it all up for me: http://www.grantland.com/blog/holly...-recap-leaving-season-2-beside-the-dying-fire Probably won't be back for season 3. But... zombies. We'll see.
I didn't want to start a new thread so I figured to post here. AMC bought the rights to Robert Kirkman's newest comic, Thief of Thieves.
I've been binge watching this show since Christmas and I really enjoy it. It's possible that I went in with low expectations, and that's why I was pleasantly surprised. I can see why some people in this thread feel like it progressed slowly, but that's not really the case when you watch them back-to-back-to-back. This thread though? Filled with characters that don't do anything, show zero growth, and are completely predictable.
