At least we, Puerto Rico, did a great job. We finish with 2W-3D-1L. It seems that Campos took us seriously, even 2 weeks before the qualifications starts, when the FPF calls him to take the NT and make a team. We didn't pass, but we expect a real good future to us. :D

I think that would be really tough on some of players who would then miss out (depending on who gets brought in) on playing on a bigger stage like Burton, Dublin, Christian, etc. as guys like Akeem Thomas, who was first choice center back, already have. Then again its football, Curtis' job is not to spare feelings and this would give them the best chance of competing so its a tough decision.

If I'm not mistaken that record was broken by Ian Edwards of Anguilla in 2008.

Well, it appears we have a 7 year discrepancy here.
What's your source? I see http://www.soccerway.com/players/ian-edwards/157485/ and http://www.caribbeanfootballdatabase.com/anguilla/players/ianedwards.html do show 1960 as his date of birth.

This page, however, lists two different players, one as midfielder and one as forward, with same name and same day of birth, 7 years apart(!): http://www.footballzz.com/search_player.php?nac=89&ord=a&op=all

I've messaged FIFA to see if they'll shed some light:

    Nine million needed

St. John’s Antigua- Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) has presented to government the budget that’s required to see the national team through the upcoming 2014 World Cup semi-final campaign where the country has been grouped with the USA, Jamaica and Guatemala.
This is according to General Secretary of Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA), Gordon “Banks” Derrick, who explained yesterday that the nine million dollar budget also includes funding that will go towards ensuring that the participation of the country’s lone professional outfit, Antigua Barracuda FC, in the United Soccer Leagues (USL), which commences in April, is a success.
According to Derrick, the team’s participation in the US league is all part of the preparation plans leading into the June 8 Qualifier against the USA.
He said also that plans have not been fully revealed as yet as the level of government’s financial input has not been finalised while they await the release of match venues by FIFA.
“We want to find out exactly where we are playing. We don’t know where we are playing just yet because the first of March determines where you are going to play because as soon as we get the dates we can go down the road with everything,” he said.
“It is a combination presentation that is being made and the nine million, so you know, includes everything – the Barracuda budget is in there too, the ABFA budget is in there, (so) it is a whole gambit of how we are preparing the team to qualify out of this round to the next round,” he added.
Derrick also revealed that talks have been taking place between a number of kind providers and ABFA where possible sponsorship is concerned, but said there has been no decision to date.
I have been in contact with Adidas, Nike, Admiral, and there is another name that is not as popular that I don’t remember and what they are saying to us is that the stage we are at is good but you need to get into the next round so at this round they can give us discounted kits but I don’t really want discounted, I really trying to get it free because obviously there is a cost to that so we are trying to get a real sponsor,” he said.
“What they are saying is that they like the concept and they like the story but the real money, the real sponsorship will come into the next round.”
The GS added that the FA has secured the team’s first official friendly which is scheduled for February 29 here in Antigua.
“The first practice game is on 29th February right here in Antigua against Trinidad and Tobago. They will be here on 29th February because we really wanted to make sure that we finished the season. We thought it was important that we gave the clubs their just due, so the clubs and the local season are important for us also because that is the development from where the feature players will come. So we have to do that,” he said.
“Persons are talking about pulling out teams and putting them in camps and so forth. We know people are getting very excited and we glad for that, but you have to be patient and you have to do things in a structured way,” Derrick added.
Antigua & Barbuda will contest Group A of the semi-final round and will opened their quest to play in the Finals slated for Brazil in 2014 when they take on the USA on June 8 in the USA.
Derrick also reminded the public that voting in the “Name that team” contest has commenced and that there are eight suggested nicknames to be voted on.
The names include Beach Boys, Benna Boys, Benna Rebels, Black Ants, Iron Bandits, Wadadli Jam Bulls, Party Crashers and Rhythm Warriors.
Those wishing to participate can text their preference of the eight listed finalists to 774-3307.

Wikipedia knows about the forfeit but doesn't say why. http://www.socawarriors.net/mens-senior-team/senior-team-news/fixtures-results.html doesn't know about the forfeit. http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=tri/news/index.html doesn't have an explanation. I'm mad that FIFA hasn't provided an explanation.
