I have DirecTV. I get Comcast in HD from DirecTV, but more often than not, the game was still broadcast in low-def. That could be a DirecTV thing, but I thought it was a Comcast thing. All of DK was in HD for me on DirecTV -- it is a beautiful thing.

Verizon Fios has it all nearly covered, IIRC. All of CSN, CSN+, NBCSports(old VS.), FSC and Galavision are offered in HD.

Where is Galavision HD on FiOS?

The Roku offers an MLS channel, which I assume is the Matchday Live feed. I'll be able to report on the quality as soon as I get to watch a game on it. :)

I have FIOS in Howard County and I do not get Galavision in HD, nor do I get the Direct Kick package in HD (they do have one channel set aside for HD telecasts but it is sparsely used).

If FIOS could upgrade to multiple HD channels for Direct Kick (like DirecTv has), I might never leave the house again..

    The Harkes story, per Goff:

John Harkes, the former D.C. United and U.S. national team captain who was ESPN’s color commentator at the past two World Cups, will serve in the same capacity for Comcast SportsNet’s match coverage of the MLS club this season, the Insider has learned.

I got it last year and was quite happy with the quality. Much smoother playback than trying to do it on my PC.

Why do the commentators have to be so bored all the time. I know some MLS games can be boring, but your job to enthrall the tv audience not force them to change over the the Spanish broadcast even of they don't speak Spanish, just to get out of the deep depression caused by the american commentators.

Is this a canned American soccer commentator complaint? Johnson and Rongen never seemed bored. They were watching United matches, but that was the last of my complaints about that pairing.

More Verizon trucks working on my street today... waiting with bated breath.

Yeah, for me, it was very good. Almost never choppy. Last year I only had it on the small tv, where even SD looks great. I also didn't watch it a whole lot, only the second half of the season, and almost entirely just United replays and highlights.

Just for clarity, any CSN United game or any national broadcast game for any teams are blacked out/delayed on the MLS Roku channel. It is exactly the same as MDL. Same sign up and everything.

And Stanspritzring, I am pretty sure even Union games are blacked out for people in northern MD-- yeah, f'ed up.

If FIOS arrives at my door this year, I prob won't get MDL. If not, I'll spring for MDL again and this year it will be on the large HDTV with the Roku2. I'll try to remember to give more feedback if that happens.

I watched it on a big screen, and it looked quite good, better than SD would. I'm not quite sure of the resolution, probably not 1080 (probably 720), but it was a good image.

I watched United games, and league highlights. I didn't get around to many of the compressed matches, but I think I will probably do a little of that this year. (I wonder what time it came out, because I recall signing up mid-season as well.)

He could be comparing to Spanish broadcasters who are prone to going vocally apeshit over the most routine half-chance. I do think that Garth Lagerway got a little more excited than Rongen did.
