Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R How many games are left? Do we have to finish nr.1?
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R YES KIM BO KYUNG wonderful!
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Kim bo kyung forced it in!
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R FT: 1-1 Ok, so this wasnt the best of options we wanted at the start. BUT lets look on the bright side. We are currently first with a point ahead of second place Oman. Only one team go through to London. Next match on the 22nd this month is the Oman away match. We win that then we go through with a match in hand (not assuming how Qatar and Saudi fare out). This Kim Bo Kyung equalizer did alot good things. Today wasnt the best of display but it was away to Saudi. In the end, we can look ahead. The next match against Oman is the real deal now. Oh yeah, and for today's match...Hong Jeong Ho definately deserved the MOTM.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Ugh, SJJ. Once in a while, he's responsible for a great goal which makes it seem like he's a worthy starter, then he has matches like tonight in which every attack seemed to die when it came to him. Was he wearing rollerskates out there? He fell down every single time! It was his unforced slip that caused the rapid counter-attack that led to the first Saudi goal. HJH played well, I thought, which was encouraging. He had a Phil Jones-like run all through the midfield. He also nearly scored and set up the long ball that KHS knocked down for KBK to score. YBG... Why the hell did he feel the need to crush the ball from, like, 10 yards out with no goalkeeper in sight? He should've had the equalizer. Lots of hard work from KHS. I felt like he won a lot of headers and was accurate with his flick-ons. I wanted a win, but Korea always seems to have trouble going to the goddamn Middle East so a tie is acceptable in my books.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Win your home games and draw your away games = best formula. Great result considering we were staring at defeat with two minutes left in ST.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R If there's a DL of this match, I'd love to know.

Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Not much to watch. A lot of bad passing, falls and languid movement with us relying on forays into flank most of the times without backup and runs from rest of team. SA caught us with our entire left flank exposed creating a nightmare 4 v 1 looking situation. I think it was HJH from around midfield line lifts a longball into the box. Ball bounces once off head n the way and is about to fall in middle of box where Kim Bokyoung rips it out of the air and into the net. Things that alarmed me: 1. We're chasing ball way too much. What happened to our smothering defense that would force loss of ball possession? We were known for this. 2. Atrocious passing. Really? We were never Spain but seriously bad passing is reaching pandemic levels. Learn to connect 3 passes in midfield without backpassing and then sending ball up flanks. That's all we do over and over again. Chase ball in defense and then when we get ball ping pass from midfield to create space in wings and then back pass and pass to flank... this shizz is not going to work against half decent opposition. 3. Shooting. If you're late teens you should already have developed skill to shoot with power into net and be on target from inside the box. Enough of weak shooting from KNT level players. And what's our football philosophy? We can laugh at Japan for trying to be wannabe Italy or Spain they're at least consistent and as ineffective as they were for the 00's I would say it's starting to pay off for them. Our game is deteriorating and we're chasing balls and running like hell to make up for lack.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Thats too bad. Well, at least it was a decent result if not an optimal one.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R I agree with what many are saying here. Also, I don't understand why HMB keeps calling Kim Minwoo. Christ, he was bad.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R His irresponsibility in pushing too far up the pitch left a huge gap which Saudi Arabia exploited for the first goal. High pressure is good but when executed with discipline. Kim Min-Woo also dove into that tackle very dangerously -- two-footed, high and off the ground...very lucky that his Saudi marker escaped unscathed. Kim Bo-Kyung is a class above.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R So ironic how all game we had so much trouble finishing and getting a clear chance... then when they finally get a goal it came from a simple long ball -> knockdown -> no mark volley. Anyways, I'll take an away draw against Saudi. Beat Oman and we're through, simple.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R haha It may be what we do best. If this is our future of the KNT then it doesn't look bright at all. I'll watch the next home game to see if we play any better.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R What was really annoying was that when Saudi Arabia seemed to play a very aggressive pressing style in the first 30 minutes (their best spell), all their defenders had to do to win the ball was simply run straight at the Korean player with the ball. The Korean player, at the sight of 3 or 4 white shirts rushing at him, would panic and weakly lose possession without much contact. At least that's what it seemed like. The players settled down a bit more after the first half. We had a ton of corners but most of them seemed useless.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Also, BSD is a little guy and he needs to use that as an asset rather than a liability. I feel like our attack was stifled because he wasn't that active for long stretches of the game, and when he did get the ball, he was too easily pushed off of it or tipped off-balance by defenders. If he can become like a bowling ball, I think the KNT will find a whole other dimension of attack besides hoofing it or whipping crosses from down the flanks.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Next match is Feb. 22nd i would like to see this: ------------------------Kim Hyun-sung ----Hong-cheol---------Kim Bo-kyung-----------Park Tae-hwan --------------Yoon Bit-garam------Han Kook-young Yoon Suk-young--Jang Hyun-soo--Hong Jeong-ho----Oh Jae-suk ----------------------Lee Bum-young
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R I understand that Hong Myung-bo had to deal with some unexpected difficulties (Yoon Seok-young's injury, etc), but he has to do a lot better than this considering how the team spent weeks to play together in Hong Kong before making the trip to Saudi Arabia. I'm a big admirer of Hong Myung-bo as a coach, but last night's performance was hugely disappointing.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R It looked like we were playing for the draw from the get-go, which was disappointing but perhaps pragmatic considering that both Japan and Australia lost their away matches against Syria and Uzbekistan, respectively. Also, Australia really sucks! Is that really their best youth team?
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R its a combination of their best players are abroad and their domestic talent sucks. but the same could be said for us as well nowadays.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R Also, was the Norway team we beat 3-0 the actual Norway NT? In all the tournament reports, the team didn't seem to have a special qualifier like "U-23" or "League XI".
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway_national_football_team A simple stroll to wiki should tell you that the team we beat 3-0 was not their strongest lineup.
Re: [2012 London Olympics Men's Football Qualification AFC Round 3] Saudi Arabia vs Korea 05/2/12 [R it was more or less the better fringe domestic players. Not the strongest lineup of players but not all under 23 like ours. the equivalent of an all kleague side.
