For those of you who track all-time regular season HTH results, it would be interesting to learn which team your club has had the most success against, and which team simply has your number. The sample size for my club is too small to be meaningful, but it is clear in Sounderville that LAG is our bane. Conversely, Seattle's 5-1-0 (WLD) against SKC is tops for my club. Particularly among the older clubs, who has the most dominate HTH record in MLS history?
Just looking it up, it appears that DCU edges out Chicago with a 16-15-10 WLD record. Seems about equal to me.
I do not know if there is another matchup in the league as consistently one-sided as Dallas v Chicago. The Fire have not beaten Dallas – at all, anywhere – for about a decade. And I think the goal differential is equally vast. This, after the Fire won just about every important matchup from 1998 until 2002, with 1999 being the notable exception. (correction, looks like I forgot the season opening game in 2009, where the Fire beat Dallas in Dallas)
I think you might have it nailed. My count has Chicago 11-20-3 WLD v. Dallas with only 2 wins in the last 16 games. This comes as a surprise since Chicago is a consistently good team. They currently sit 3rd in all time Pts/Gm at 1.513. Note: From 96 to 99 I counted Shootouts as draws.

In the small sample size for Portland: Chicago was kind enough to give us both our first home and first away wins in franchise history. We got 2 wins off of Vancouver. Colorado is 2-0-0 on us. The first loss to them was against the same exact lineup that appeared in the MLS Cup Final. Granted, that was probably the last time in the season that happened for them. Everyone else is some combination in between for Portland.
Hell, when we removed Casey in the 60th minute of that game that was the last time all season that the MLS Cup starting lineup was on the field at the same time. Our second win against you was on a last-minute goal that probably should have been called offside. As one fo the few Rapids fans in Jeld-Wen Field that day though, I can't complain.
