Great news even if he doesn't get into the game, but hopefully he does and impresses.

    Well done, Terrence!

Seriously, that's great news. And he's earned it.

This. He's in the 18 for a big four club in a big five league, he's 20, and he's only going to keep improving. IMO needs to be capped soon.

Boyd on the Rise in Dortmund, Due for U.S. Call?
“I want to do anything that makes me better,” ... “At the end of the day, it’s not enough to just make the first team and then you never play, you just sit on the bench. So if there were a loan that would help to make me better I would take it, to make sure I can come back and really compete with these guys.”

Also he has had two goals total in the U-23 friendlies.

He made the bench for Dortmund(once). I know it does not mean a thing, but still.

I would not be too mad if he got a senior cap against a minnow in WCQ.

Here's his goal for the U-23s today against Leverkusen. Nice close control. Dancing needs some work.

Brilliant goal. Amazing how close in appearance he looks to Bunbury wearing that jersey.

    Google translate:
"In both test matches of the U.S. U-23 national team went to Boyd as top scorer. Now, only the representative of the United States must qualify at the tournament in March in their own country for London 2012 and Terrence Boyd prevail against strong competition internally.

But it should be possible, even if Boyd, changed in the summer from Hertha BSC Berlin 2 to BVB 2, remains realistic. The competition was strong, also it would add two A-National player, including the strong Jozy Altidore from AZ Alkmaar, according to Boyd. And yet, both in the test match against second division side VfL Bochum (3-1) and against the U 23 from Bayer Leverkusen (1:1) each contributed a hit with Boyd. "I think", grinned the Borusse, "I have left a lasting impression."
Boyd has already scored nine goals

Just as in Dortmund BVB. Twelve games he played in the current regional league season, is always placed in the root formation of trainer David Wagner has been appointed head coach of one already Jürgen Klopp in the first team squad. With nine goals he is in the regional league scoring charts at number three behind Marcus Fischer (14) from Lotte and Christian leaders Knappmann (11) from Wuppertal. On Friday evening (19.00 clock) in the home match against SC Verl Boyd, however, is just sitting in the stands after he had been acting in a 1-0 in Koblenz his fifth yellow card.

The question remains, why Terrence Boyd actually plays for the U.S. selection? Theoretically, he could and should compete for Germany. Boyd, created in 1991 from the combination of a German and a U.S. soldier and raised in Bremen, has both the German and the American nationality. "I feel attracted to both but the DFB is still no one came up to me," said Boyd, who regarded the whole affair but quite relaxed. "My heart beats for both teams, yes, of course I would not be averse to playing for the U 21 of the DFB," smiled Boyd. No matter what happens. Festival, he can not see himself as U-23 player has, so all options for the future.
Boyd does not compare with Ginczek

Especially since his qualities as a striker withstand any comparison. For example, the BVB with his predecessor Daniel Ginczek. The summer at VfL Bochum on loan striker scored twelve goals in the last year for BVB 2, Boyd comes, as I said, after the 14th Match on nine hits.

While Ginczek plays a firm role in the concept of U-21 coach Rainer Adrion, Boyd would certainly not stand in the phone book of the DFB-trainer. Boyd is no problem: "I like such comparisons, because Daniel is Ginczek umheimlich strong and not for nothing at VfL Bochum in the second division under contract." That's part of the positive traits of Terrence Boyd. The performance of the competition he acknowledges fully."

I find it funny that the author asked why he is even playing for us when he could possibly play for Germany.
