Youtubing all the night, I'd have to go with Shinji Ono, closely followed by Shunsuke Nakamura

Shinji Ono grabbed my attention first, then Nakata. But Shunsuke overtook them to become my favorite.

Nakata. Scared to think where we would be without him.

稲本 even though he sat on the bench when was in Europe. His goal against Belgium and Russia made him my favorite.

Jo.... He made a lot of haters when he was laughing everytime he missed great scoring opportunities in France '98. Too bad Okada didn't use Wagner Lopes and kept believing in Jo...

It's sad to think that Ono and Nakata are still theoretically young enough to still be playing for the national team if it wasn't for injuries/losing interest.

Not Japanese, but those two always stood out for me.

Ono. He could playmake, finish chances, run all day and even tackle and defend. A pity he was so unlucky with injuries.

At least it didn't turn out as bad as it could have for the NT, with Endo stepping up to fill in Ono's void.
