Watched online (a bit hiccupy connection) but the guys looked good... Up next DENVER for the season opener this weekend!

I thought new coach was going to bring new attacking mentality? The game reminded me of the Warming era....too many passes within 18.

Did I miss something, are we starting the season without him?

Acoff and Finlay have a minor strain. Could have played at Fort Wayne, but no need risking it. From my understanding, may be held out the first week-end, too. I expect that they each may get a few minutes if ready.

maybe but Jays missing two top forwards that we have green light to rip shots in those area/situations. Jays looked solid against a very good ND side. Really impressed with Jordan and Polak. Those two with Gomez and Finlay are going to be a handful.

Creighton will either play like this

    ------------ Holt -------------
    ---Miller--Peters--Duran---Polak
    ------------Jordan-------------
    ---Clark-----Castro/Pena----Acoff-
    --------------Gomez------------
    ----------Finlay------------------

    or

    ------------ Holt -------------
    ---Miller--Peters--Duran---Polak
    ------------Jordan-------------
    --Clark------Gomez-------Acoff-
    ---------Finlay----Ribiero-------

been some tinkering with Acoff and Finlay out

We didn't get back to Omaha until about 1:30 am, but it was worth it to see Creighton Mens Soccer put up 5 goals on defending summit League Champions: UM-KC!
5-0 was the final, could easily have been higher!
    Goals from:
Ethan Finlay (a brace... could have been a Hat-trick)
    "Choco" Gomez
Bruno Castro (his first for CU, had another one off the post)
    Liam Kelly

This season goes as EF goes, he gets the offence moving and opens up a lot for the rest of the attackers. Its a long season and many defenders looking at that brace as a target. Keep your fingers crossed.

This is a really good Creighton team. If they aren't in the quarterfinals of the NCAAs, this year has been a failure. I won't be at all surprised if these guys make it to Birmingham.

I could be wrong about this, but I think "brace" here means Finlay scored twice, not that he's wearing a brace.

Creighton 3-0 winner over Drexel tonight before a nice crowd of 5425.

Drexel was bunkered up pretty well most of the match and attempted a couple counter attacks.

Creighton stayed patient got 1 in the first half on a deflection and then a couple late in the match.

Finley had a nice bicycle right at the keeper and hit the cross bar with a rocket later in the match.

Goal by Rubiero, Castro and Jordan.

Sunday they play DePaul in Chicago.

Thanks for the report. How well did the Jays play?

One correction to your post: Actually, we started last year with 4 straight shutouts. The CU release about last night's game included this: "The nationally-ranked Bluejays have now started each of the last two seasons with four straight shutouts and have now outscored their opponents 10-0 on the season."

For those interested in seeing last season's records, see the Jays online stats for last year.

They played much better than the scoreline suggests, they struggled with finishing last night by not putting several shots on net. Looks promising for the rest of the year.

How's Polak looked thus far? Has he grown and become a bit more physical out there?
