    FIRST PAGE!!

This could be a great season for Fulham if all of these offensive pieces can mesh. They have a good defense and a potentially explosive attack. If all the pieces fit together, it could be a lot of fun.

Is this the best we can do for thread titles? No offense, but they are awful. Here's my suggestion:
"Fulham's little Deuce coup: Arsenal denied"

"Yes there was interest from clubs, including Arsenal, but nothing materialized," said Dempsey

I trust him more than I trust you...

I'm not sure "interest" quite covers "will be Arsenal within 48 hours". But yeah, it's good to at least know they were actually checking him out.

I know a few people were dead positive Arsenal wasn't interested in Clint. Not according to Clint, himself.

"Yes there was interest from clubs, including Arsenal, but nothing materialized," said Dempsey when Goal.com was able to track him down and ask about the Arsenal link on Friday. "I still have this season and one more at Fulham, and I'm looking forward to having another good season."

Fulham are currently sitting bottom of the table and I don't think today's fixture is going to improve their league placing.

Of course it's still early days and in particular I expect all 3 newly promoted teams will tail-off and struggle this season, particualrly Norwich and Swansea, meaning that all the more established Premiership teams will have a decent margin for error.

That said, unless Fulham's new signings come good, I think Fulham may be in trouble this season. Key players Davies and Murphy, whilst still serviceable have tailed off a bit due to age and the effect on the team is noticeable. Obviously they still have Hangeland, Zamora, Dempsey and Schwarzer in decent form however I'm not sure with the fairly 'meh' nature of the rest of the team if this is enough to mean they won't be under serious threat of relegation this season.

I knew the team would collapse when EJ left.

I actually disagree with this... I think there is a good chance at least 2 of the promoted squads will stay up... all 3 certainly play better quality soccer than a couple of established clubs like Wigan, Blackburn, WBA... heck even Bolton look bad this year.

I got to see bits and pieces of the game and what litle I did actually concentrate on, Clint had that look. I think we all know what I'm talking about. That look where he's two steps from punching you but at the same time has enough control to put everything on his back to get a result. That hard nose, tough Texan came out and he wasn't going to be denied. he was brilliant from the little I saw. Man city looked like they feared him. Not many Americans can have that impact.
