The Philadelphia Independence will host either the WPS Semifinal (Sat. 8/20) OR WPS Championship (Sat. 8/27) at PPL Park! Game time will be at 4:00 PM.

Tickets are sold through Comcast Tix, in conjuction with New Era Tickets. There are three ways you can purchase tickets and support the Independence:

*Stop by the PPL Park box office (No Fee!)
    Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

*Call the Comcast Tix call center at 1-800-298-4200
    *Visit www.comcasttix.com and search "Independence"

Note: Two weeks of WPS regular season play remains. Which of these two WPS playoff games the Independence hosts depends on our final standing by August 14. The #2 seed will host the semifinal match on 8/20, and the #1 seed will have a semifinal bye, then host the championship on 8/27.

The Independence has created a variety of pricing options for our WPS playoff game that will provide excellent seating and affordable pricing. Help us fill the stadium!

Sons of Ben members, and other groups of 20+ qualify for a special pricing of $18. ($5 off the face value) . The designated SOB sections at the goal closest to the River End opposite the player benches (sec 132).

Regular prices range from $23 for the bleachers side line up to $78 for VIP / on field

So it doesn't look like there is an official SOB sections for the game...is that gonna change or should we just buy tickets for TRE regardless?

As of now, TRE isn't oppening and the SOB Section = # 132, with the group discount in place. As that fills up, then there are other sections nearby that are reserved and can become supporters only as needed. The expected attendance is 5k or more, but if Abby Wambach's team from Florida is in as the Independence opponent, I would expect that attendance to double to 10-12k range if they market it enough and if the 6:00 news shows up at practice to see Wambach, Hope and other team USA company.

Western NY is in first place. However Philly could still regain the division title and host the championship game so that will be determined in the next week or so (August 14 is the final regular season game). As of now, Philly would likely be in position to host a semifinal on 8/20, rather than the champs on 8/27 but that is not officially determined until next weekend.

Saturday, 8/20 at 4pm... PPL Park hosts the WPS Semifinal match.

    Philadelphia Independence vs.

the winner of magicjack (Abby Wambach, Rapinoe, Rampone, Sauerbrunn, Boxx, Loyden) or Boston Breakers (Lauren Cheney, Rachel Buehler, Amy LePeilbet)

The best way to get your tickets is through the PPL box office. However, they are still available online as well, through this link. SOB's get $5 off in the supporters section, message me for the promo code.

There are a LOT of new chants at the ready, for playoffs this week! Get ready for taunting the owner!! The magic jack club is still hope-less and without a website, just like they were when they debuted their faces in Philly about four months ago!

Please download or view the attached, and let it inspire you crazy Philly fans to raise the roof at section 132!

Dress code ideas for new fans: wear gold, light blue SOB/DOOP gear, or gray. Our players will likely be in solid gray with gold numbers (home uniforms) and the visiting magic jack will probably be in All white kits. Wear "unfinished business" independence cup shirt if you were at that game.

Mysteriously absent from the e-mail blast that went out from the union last night for this match...

ABBY WAMBACH is coming! Hopefully, she gets a standing ovation for being an American hero vs. Brazil in one of the most dramatic goals in soccer history 2 months ago.

Ok I don't follow wps but last I knew Hope Solo was playing for MJ, I'm just wondering why she didn't play against Philly in their biggest game of the year... I've tried looking everywhere for a reason but haven't found one.

Hope Solo was injured in the World Cup Final, and has been out ever since. She has not been with the team, and is recovering back home in Washington State.

Got to leave it with not cleared to play. Remember, the olympics are next Summer, and the USWNT would not want her risking further injury in a WPS game. Of course, maybe she din't want to be around Dan?

Only if she promises to use it to become a part-owner of a WPS franchise. ;)
