hold your horses. If Maturana ends up being our DT, then he'll likely call JPA for qualifiers:eek:

I know that JPA is not young anymore & he's been injured for most of the year, but don't like how he's been treated by my Galaxy or the supporters! And to send him to our archrival is just a slap in the face IMO!

He probably still going to make at least $1 million at Chivas. Look man Angel has to think about his kids, same as Yepes and Cordoba. None of these guys will ever live in Colombia again while their kids are young or even Argentina. If Angel's kid becomes a youth prospect I can see him moving back to England for his development. South America is nice but being a rich kid in NYC or England is a huge huge difference than in South America.

Only way any of these guys come back it is to be the NT coaches. I really hope one of these three guys starts coaching in the future. Argentina does it all the time with former NT players but in Colombia new coaches are rarely given shots.

hate him for being a Bolillos bitch.

Leonel is a perfect example of giving former star players shots at coaching and he did it the right way. By not forcing it like Pibe did but actually working for it and waiting for his shot. I just don't like that he became Bolillo and Maturanas puppet. He is now part of that stupid little bromance that has been making us a shitty team for the past 20 years.

I want all of them gone.

No Colombian players ever have had the international experience or coaches of JPA, Ivan Cordoba, Oscar Cordoba, Mondragon or Yepes and to a lesser extent LAP. All these guys careers are over or just about over, I'd love them to get into management is all I am saying.

Dude is 37.... prob time to retire. I can see Nacional trying to bring him back for a season but Angel is done. He only had 4 goals this season in 17 games !!! Yepes and JPA are my two favorite Colombian players ever but these guys are done thank god JPA isn't on the NT any more.

He had no one on his team man. It took Pekerman to not have Falcao play the same. Angel to me was at Falcao's level he just had a career ending injury and wasn't really ever the same. Falcao kind of had it too but had it when he was like 18/19 in his knees. JPA was a awesome player it's not his fault it took 20 years for Colombia to realize we weren't getting another Pibe and to learn how to fing attack during games.

JPA was a lot better than what his numbers with the NT and at Aston Villa might suggest, probably only the season when he scored 23 goals is the one where he was at his top form...

But no way that he is even neart to Falcao. I mean, at some point it looked that they were comparable, probably in the final two years at River, but once Falcao moved to Porto you could see that Falcao was way better and more effective.

As players, I would dare to say that Angel has a little more finnesse, looks more polished in certain faces of the game, but other than that, El Tigre is head and shoulders over JPA in finishing, effectiveness and specially he is hungrier... Falcao seems to add something new to his game every month, JPA just stalled after he reached his peak.

I'm not trying to to compare Falcao to Angel because it's rediculous but we must remember one thing: In my opinion at least, Angel made a huge mistake by going to a "gray" team like the Villans. one year earlier who torn nets with his goals and all of a sufdden he cannot score? He also played in a much tougher league then Falcao in his first European year. Maybe if he would go to Benfica, Porto or French league for example, maybe his career would develope differently but I don't like to play the "if" game. One thing is for sure: Angel wasn't an overrated like some of you said here. He was a good payer, very good if I may add, that proved himself i the highest level of South America but couldn'r succee in Europe. As for the NT, I do agree with Crzd. He played in our worst era for the last 2 decades, so we cannot judge him. Just like we couldn't understand how Falcao scores in his clubs but not in the NT until Pekerman came, same thing with Angel who was wonderful in River but couldn't translate his ability in the NT. I really like to see him in his last year with the uniform of Nacional.
