A colleague of mine and I were discussing football the other day and decided that we wanted to start following a Championship side. He's a Fulham supporter and I support Spurs. I guess we're looking for a Championship side that mimics those two clubs. We had settled on QPR before the season ended up now that they're being promoted we'll look to follow another side. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

No point choosing Palace if you want a club that mimics Spurs and Fulham. Palace are way too much fun...

Are you German? If so whick club(s) do you support in Germany as this might help with your choice?

Come support the team that will break your heart annually and make you come back for more every August. We'll change our name to Nottinghammer Wald in your honour.

Haha...that's funny. Just to give you an idea of how we lean...in addition to supporting Dortmund, I root for St. Pauli's for fun. I just like what they're all about as a club.

I like Blackpool, myself. Although I suspect we'll see them back in the EPL here pretty soon. :)

I like St Pauli too. That is a very unique club. Congrats to BVB, what a season. A good friend of mine lives near Dortmund in Hagen, but unfortunately for him, he supports Monchengladbach. I always enjoy watching the Bundesliga. Outstanding football.

Thanks. I must admit I didn't see a lot of games this season. I get FSC but watched mostly Spurs and occasionally Dortmund when they were on. I suspect they'll be on more next year, especially having qualified for Champions League. That will be fun.

Leeds United all the way. I've been supporting them for a little over two years now. They've got so much history, they've got talent, great and bloodthirsty fans, and an ambitious board who want to return to their hey days in the 70s and late 90s. I've found the club so extremely likeable from simply watching home games at Elland Road where the crowd nearly cries at every goal their team scores. I saw that and myself wanted to mimic that passion.

It's basically a very ambitious club with a lot of talent and fan passion.
They were down 3-0 today and their fans were still in the stands singing loud

    The boardroom is ambitious?

Well maybe they're ambitious but they're frugal. I mean the board room has its sights set on being promoted to the premier league meaning they provide the funds to get top players.

Haha, do they really? Good luck telling your fellow supporters that.

Reasons please. Why Cardiff as opposed to Southampton for example?

Clearly you should support the Mighty Millwall Lions.

Do what you want, fella. Though I'd suggest Canadian MLS fans should plump for us if they'd otherwise miss the sensation of being consistently told to "piss off to your own league".

Millwall or Watford seem like reasonable choices OP
