It seems to be varying from team to team. I know the national players on my team (philly) from the last time I checked still weren't in camp. I know some sky blue players have not joined the team in turkey.
Flash beat U17 Boys Erie Admirals 7-2 yesterday. Goals by Morgan, Sinclair, Augustine, Bock, and Mele French.
it's been noted that it's hard for a womens team against boys, even u17, because of overall speed and strength, but 7 goals is a nice number without marta and maurine. i cant wait to see wny full squad against jack with hope in net. that 1st game in rochester will be a monster. now my dream is for new jack to sign formiga in mid-field to off-set maurine and it's on. wps needs more owners soon like jack and sahlen for these dream teams.
It was a good game - the ladies got off to a slow start, but built momentum throughout. It's amazing to see the speed of play up close - Christine Sinclair is very fast....deceptively fast. Adding Marta to the fold will only increase the playing speed through the front line. From what it looked like, the Flash ran a 4-4-2 for most of the first half, with Alex Morgan and Sinclair as the attacking forwards. In the 2nd half, I believe they switched to a 4-3-3, adding Mele French up top. Movement was good throughout the game. I can't wait for opening day kickoff in Rochester! Aaron
Solid - very solid. Kim Brandao was substituted into the game in the 2nd half, and they didn't miss a beat. All in all, they looked like they could really move the ball around the back line and feed the midfield wings really well. I was actually surprised to see the amount of wing play - I was thinking that they might play a lot more through the middle. With that said, a very good performance through the entire roster. Aaron
It may have been - I got to the game, but didn't get a roster (apparently they handed some out) so I really couldn't tell who was who on the back line. I knew the ladies from last year (Brandao, French, etc.), and Morgan and Sinclair (seen them on TV before), but didn't have a great pulse on the rest. I couldn't even tell who was playing in goal at that point, and usually I key in on the goalies (having been one myself in the past). I mainly went to watch how they moved through the formation and how they pushed play upfield. Overall, I didn't see any concerns at the back line. I think they'll be very solid on defense. Aaron
Since nobody reported this yet... the Flash beat Syracuse University 3-1 yesterday. Goals were from Augustine (Sitch), Wilson (Riley), and Edwards (PK). Starting lineup was: Bowers, Reed, Edwards, Brandao, Fountain, Goebel, Sitch, Zerboni, Parker, French & Augustin. Changes at the half : Flash substitutes: Wilson for Parker, Riley for Goebel, and Bock for Sitch The Flash play Ohio State today. I would expect a more complete lineup today with Seger, Engen, etc.
Guess nobody mentioned the Ohio State game where the Flash tied them 1-1. Today the Flash played Niagara University where they won 11-0. Seger scored 5, Fountain scored 3, Goebel scored 2 and Parker scored 1.
IT was reported..Your exact quote was copied from The WNY Flash tweet about the lineup, substitutes, and goals... Wow great work Forever Lost !!!
Well nobody said anything on here yet. Nobody else has bothered posting any of this info so I'm sorry if I'm being redundant to you.
