I was blown away by how bad we were. i know the quality of players birmingham have are expected to make better passes, but the defending on their first two goals was just plain embarrassing. honestly, i'm glad we got paired up with brum, because watching crawley town play man u after our match, i don't see how we would've beaten them (crawley)... and that would've been so much worse for morale.

too early, perhaps, to say the lads have turned the corner, but at least they seem to be playing football now. three much needed points in any case. i rather liked what i saw of osbourne in the brum match, and from what i've been reading, it seems he may be a proper player. i may be developing for him a touch of the irrational man-love that comes from seeing a player but once, liking his performance, and then following from afar ... y'know, so you can't see the crap performances, and every compliment evokes images of true quality. i had the same kind of footy-crush on tony mcmahon after the watford match in '08. ... and jimmy smith after qpr/palace in '06. ... and henri antchouet after belenenses/rio ave in '04. ... and pedro munitis for santander v madrid in '98. it's all very sad, really.
lol. been there, done that but with f1. christian fittipaldi... reda is my new fave with the owls tho.
oh yeah. i remember your post-race interface at the '95 indy500. you said "good race, christian", but your eyes betrayed your real meaning ... "i love you, christian". i'm pretty sure he picked up on it, too. those swarthy south american latinos have some kind of radar for it. y'know, i'd been picking up on that.

we suck. what a complete load of wasters on this team. does anyone think the result this weekend will be any better away at southampton?
The worst thing about this is that I have so little faith in the team anymore; instead of looking at who we play next and hoping we win, I'm looking at all the teams behind us who have games in hand, hoping they lose. On seeing this result today, my first thought was "OK, Notts County have two games in hand, so that'll drop us down to 17th... and Dagenham have 2 games in hand too, but they'll be one point behind us...." and then I stopped myself, disgusted by the fact that I'm placing all my hopes on Tranmere, Yeovil and Dagenham not winning games.
i'm a bit more confident on the road than at hillsborough these days. by all accounts (that i've heard, anyway), the support's much better away, and there doesn't appear to be the fear that comes at hillsborough ... players will show for the ball, and when in possession they're not so desperate to get shut of it that they just hoof it up the pitch. in other words, they just seem to be playing better away. without looking, i'd guess that wednesday's last two or three wins have been away. i mean, you're right - theyr'e crap and they'll probably still lose. but i'm less pessimistic on the road.
what i want to know is why the hell megson is only starting one striker at home. when we play with men back, it doesn't stop us from giving up tons of goals. we might as well throw men forward and give up goals while at least getting some ourselves. hell, if anything, pushing men forward up the pitch could take some pressure off the back four.
right now there is a link(look on the 4th page) for it on myp2p: southampton v SWFC mebbe we can see them....

hey, apparently i am! i got a PM weeks ago saying the spurs board needed a mod, and they asked if i was interested. i told them i'd be glad to if it'd help out and answered a couple questions, but i never heard anything, so i didn't really give it any more thought. then i saw that double was back to being a mod, so i guessed they just didn't need another one anymore. but it seems they do ... how about that? now if i can just figure out how to edit other people's posts ...
