2012 Asian Olympic Qualifiers age question does any one now the age regulation for pre olympic what if someone are 23 this year, does he still eligible for pre olympic match??? i know he will not be eligible to play in london 2012, but once again does he still eligible to play the pre-olympic qualifier some link to afc regulation will be appreciated to
Re: 2012 Asian Olympic Qualifiers age question They have to be 23 or under at the Olympics - similarly to how it is an AFC U/16 title and from there you qualify for the FIFA U/17 WC
So, technically, we could see a Japan vs S. Korea fixture in the 2nd round with one being eliminated. Doesn't seem right. Both teams had sent their u-21 teams to the Asian games so that they could play the same team all the way until the 2012 olympics, didn't they? And Japan won, and South Korea made it to the semis.
e Well yeah, that could happen. You have 11 round 1 winners to go into most likely a seeded draw with another 13 round 2 teams with byes. But to be honest I would expect that the AFC move the lowest seeded team from the current teams that have byes into a lower pool, so we would have 12 seeded teams and 12 unseeded teams. Vietnam would be the team that would be pushed if they go on the performance of 2008 qualifiers.
Anyone know where the games are being held? I'm particularly interested in the Thailand-Palestine game and what stadium it will be played in.
Confirmed by the FA president that the return leg will be in Palestine, at the Faisal Al-Husseini Memorial Stadium in Al-Ram.
Hong Kong Olympic 1:4 Indonesia Olympic Well, a few of the HK olympic regulars did not play, like Yapp Hung Fai and Au Yeung Yiu-Chung... excuses, excuses, excuses...
Friendlies : 8.12 Lebanon - Qatar 2-1 24.12 Jordan - Kuwait 3-0 23.1 Syria - Kuwait 4-0 23.1 Jordan - Morocco 1-1 9.2 Jordan - Sudan 1-1 9.2 Kuwait NT - Japan 3-0 Thailand - Pakistan 2-1 Today : Kuwait - Yemen
Jonny, These were all U-23 teams? Except for Kuwait Japan? A couple of surprises, Lebanan - Qatar, and Thailand - Pakistan. I would have expected Qatar to be stronger than Lebanon, and I would have expected Thailand to win by a larger margin, the team that beat the Indian NT was basically the U-23 team with a few seniors.
Yes, all teams were Olympic teams except Kuwait - Japan Olympic where Kuwait fielded a full NT. results mostly from goalzz.com , you can read about the Thailand - Pakistan match on www.footballpakistan.com
