As the title suggests, this thread is intended as an all-encompassing thread for talking about significant developments in USMNT pool players' (current and those with realistic potential) club status.

Re: Tracking the Pool: The official thread for news & discussion about USMNT players’ club moves & c

...with the intent of discussing how does the club development impact the USMNT or affect a particular player's status or future with USMNT.

As a result of this thread, any thread created along the lines of "Player X to club Y" posted in USA Men or USA Men N&A will be moved to this thread unless it has particularly good reason to be separate.

Well, couldn't yu guys write some content too?

Kenny flies the Coop (or returns to one).

There's new sheriff in town - Findley in Nottingham.

Audi, podner - Buddle sprechen sie Deutsch.

15 will get you Twente - Gooch's gone Dutch.

    I could go on ... but I really shouldln't.

Well, at the big boy (A Team) level, it has been a pretty good couple of weeks. 7 Positive moves for guys who went to SA or would have if healthy.

Gooch get away from Milan and is reunited with his former coach at Twente, who are in contention for the Eredivisie title and a CL berth.

Jermaine Jones escapes Schalke to the EPL and Blackburn, where he looks to be in the clubs plans. Though likely no CL ball for Jermaine, but he wasn't getting any at Schalke either.

Buddle to Ingolstadt and Findley to Forest both have the potential to help them out a lot. Findley to develop a bit, and Buddle to hopefully impress and move up.

Goodson moving to Brondby is also a step up, though he hasn't laced them up yet.

Guzan getting some much needed PT at Hull (and some shutouts and wins) is also good. I wish the loan was longer.

Bornstein finally laced them up for Tigres, though he was subbed at half. He was at MF. He's coming off an injury, so I don't know if it was fitness or performance that led to the sub.

More towards the fringes, there was some more positive stuff.

Cooper heading back to MLS is good for him, he can play some now. Yelldell continues to play well in the 2.Bundesliga for Duisburg. Boss seems on the verge of a move to Sweden that would be great for him.

Kljestan is getting consistent starts for Anderlecht is a very positive sign. And they are still alive in Europe. I've always thought Sacha could be a very good attacking CM type.

I even have my fingers crossed that Adu will sign with Ingolstadt as well and get some PT.

Too bad about Houllier throwing Lichaj under the bus at Aston Villa, I hope he gets out of there, or outlasts Houllier.

Jozy played in an actual game, that was cool. He got subbed off and his play could not be described as anything above pedestrian, but he played.

Edu returned from injury to the bench and scored a fairly nifty goal.

I don't mean this in a negative light, but I am not so sure this discussion belongs here.

The thread guidelines are a bit vague, so I am asking for clarification from Bungadiri, but I believe this discussion will be limited to the topics in the thread title - club moves and contracts - and how those pertain to the USMNT.

Discussion about if player X played in a game belongs in the particular YA or MLS club threads. Jozy and Edu have not moved clubs in a long time, so that discussion belongs in their representative threads.

But again, I'm not 100% sure on this yet, and the mods will be sure to let everyone know when we've come to a consensus.

Gotcha. My bad, the description is actually pretty clear and has nothing to do with my post. Oops.

No worries, you haven't done anything wrong. We're still discussing it because I think some of us mods are even confused by what should go in this thread :)

The fact that Kenny Cooper continues to bounce around is something of a mystery to me.

He is not the prototypical striker, of course, fitting instead that mold of the U.S. clunker to an extent... a big target-man with few tangible skills on possession, but he scores goals. He's a hotdamn zombie goalscorer. His lack of technical expertise must be what gets him into trouble, because he produces like a mother...

2005: 3 goals in 7 appearances for Oldham Athletic
2006-2009: 40 goals in 90 appearances for FC Dallas
2009-2010: Scored in his first appearance for 1860 Munich. Put in two goals in 11 games, most of which were played as subs.

Not to mention four goals in 10 caps with the Nats. Timbers are set up well with him.

Injuries were a factor for Cooper at 1860. He was hurt so much, he simply never got a chance. Even after being shipped to Plymouth, I believe he had injuries issues as well.

Agreed that it has been great. The idea of both Jones and Onyewu now getting consistent minutes is a giant plus for the US- Looks like both of them have a good shot to make the Gold Cup now.

Kljestan has been the most suprising, but Lichaj not getting minutes really stings. I was hoping that he could play in the Gold Cup, but I don't see it happening in his current club situation.

There are, however, "Altidore to Gijon" rumors out there.

A point on Buddle - in training with Ingolstadt, he said that ~ , "Here, you have to keep constantly moving and finding the passing lanes".

Which did not sound like an endorsement of the MLS style of play.

Any further info/confirmation of the Bradley to Sunderland rumor?

    No confirmaiton, no denials.

Sunderland picked up a forward, may pick up another mid.

    Off Soccernet :

On a related note, Sunderland's own site featured a story on Michael Bradley ... with a photo of Filip Daems.

So, I wouldn't be packing my bags yet.

Interview with Hahneman after todays game. A little sketchy on his future in the prem. Was always his plan to come back to MLS. High praise from McManaman after interview.

Today they brought him on in the 85th. I sure hope the reason is they're ironing out a transfer and don't want him to get injured. Otherwise it would be rather disheartening to see him losing playing time while at a relegation bound squad.

Bradley's situation is getting really interesting. The Sunderland move seems dead, they signed two other midfielders.

However, Gladbach has signed Fink, who Torfabrik at least thinks is Mike's replacement:

    http://torfabrik.de/profis/borussia/datum/2011/01/27/michael-fink-kommt.html

    Google translator:

Some alleged suitors are; Palermo, Spartak Moscow and Galatasaray.

Galatasaray seems the most legit, based on this small report:

    http://www.fussballtransfers.com/m-gladbach-galatasaray-erhoht-angebot-fur-bradley_16586

Which essentially says Galatasaray has increased their offer to 3 million, but Gladbach wants five. Meanwhile Mike is not starting, so that provokes this report:

    http://www.express.de/sport/fussbal...spiel-mit-bradley/-/3286/6921610/-/index.html

Which seems like speculation from a tabloid saying their is a rift between Bradley and the manager.

In any even it is bizarre, interesting and hopefully resolved shortly.

The coach is definately on the hot seat. I would think in a rift between the 2 Bradley has the stronger position. But if Bradley made it known that he wanted to leave I can see how all this turned into a snafu.

Disappointing about Sunderland. Going to an EPL team in European contention would've been cool.

Palermo would keep him in a top 5 league. They're only 3 points out of Champions League contention. I don't know what their CM situation is, but if Bradley could step in as a starter, this would definitely be the best landing spot.

Spartak is still in the Europa League this year and already qualified for next year. Would be much better than being relegated to BL2 on team whose coach that seems to have lost faith in him.

Galatasaray was already eliminated from the Europa League this year and sits 9 points out of Europa contention for next year in 7th place. I'd be disappointed if this ended up being his landing spot.

note: this post is slamming houllier, not bradley

Imagine if Bob Bradley had gotten the Villa coaching job.

He'd have coached his son in MLS, at the World Cup and in the EPL.
