While nothing seems to be on any official website (IOC/CAF or FIFA) some newspaper reports are about that suggest the draws for the 2012 games in London have been made.

    viz:
    Men's:
    Rwanda v Ethiopia (http://www.ethioplanet.com/news-fee...-in-2012-olympic-qualifier-postzambiacom.html)

    But then:

    South Africa v Libya (http://www.sowetanlive.co.za/sport/2010/08/17/mashaba_s-boys-eager-for-2012-olympics) - starting 8 December

But the article is a bit confusing:
    Maybe it's groups:

    Women's:
    Any further info?

FWIW - you can add Tanzania v Cameroon to the men's draw (to be held in March).

    That gives:
    Preliminary round (8-10 October + 22-24 October 2010)
    Botswana v Namibia
    Swaziland v Mauritius
    Djibouti v Madagascar

    First Round (25 March + 8 April)
    Zambia v Rwanda
    Mozambique v Morocco
    Tanzania v Cameroon
    Senegal v Angola
    South Africa v Libya

Given 3 spots for the finals - one might expect 12 ties in the first round (7 more than shown here).

Lowly ranked teams will play home-and-away playoff in Round One and the winners will qualify for the second round.

First leg of the first round will be played on February 23, 2011, while the return leg will be played on March 9.

The Round One winners will join the highest ranked teams in Round Two and 12 teams will make it to the third round after playing home-and-away playoff on June 19, 2011, and June 23, 2011.

The teams will be divided into three groups of four teams each in the third round which will have a home-and-away format. The winners of each group will qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.

According to a fax received by the Congolese football federation, both teams will play the qualifiers according to the following program; the men’s team will play against Chad during the weekend of the 08th,09, and 10th October against Chad in Kinshasa while the return leg will be played during the weekend of 17th,18th,19th December in Chad. Meanwhile the ladies team will only come to the scene during the weekend of January 14,15,16 in 2009 (2011) against Ethiopia while the return leg will be played during the weekend of the 28,29 30 January.

    So now, we have:

    MEN
    Preliminary round (8-10 October + 22-24 October 2010)
    Botswana v Namibia
    Swaziland v Mauritius
    Djibouti v Madagascar
    DR Congo v Chad
    Sierra Leone v Liberia

    First Round (25 March + 8 April)
    Zambia v Rwanda
    Mozambique v Morocco
    Tanzania v Cameroon
    Senegal v Angola
    South Africa v Libya
    Djibouti/Madagascar v Algeria
    Botswana/Namibia v ?
    Swaziland/Mauritius v ?
    DR Congo/Chad v ?
    Sierra Leone/Liberia v ?
    Tunisia v Malawi
    ? v ?

    WOMEN
    Preliminary round (October 2010)
    Zambia v Botswana

    First Round (14-16 January + 28-30 January 2011)
    Zambia/Botswana v South Africa
    Ethiopia v DR Congo

I'd imagine big teams such as Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Tunisia, Egypt, Ghana would fill 5 of those question mark slots, and there might then be another preliminary round match.

Next year’s All-Africa Games – a qualifier for the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament London 2012 – will take place in Maputo, where Nooij will be responsible for leading the hosts’ U-23s. “The All Africa Games will be a good impulse for Mozambican football, particularly for the young players who will be able to aim for something really high,” he said. “We will open our new stadium in December with a crowd of some 60,000, and that will help the players to find the right spirit. We have exciting times ahead.”

Strange that Mozambique are playing in the qualifying round then, as they get direct entry to the All-Africa Games as hosts, and also there are only 8 places available at the finals. If the All-Africa Games are being used as qualifiers, then what are all these matches that have been arranged for?

Must be. Nigerian reports were talking about the AAG and the OG qualifiers as separate assignments for the 'Olympic Eagles'.

Zambia/Botswana winner plays South Africa (South Africa hosts second leg).

Either Sierra Leone has withdrawn or someone got a bit excited with the data entry.

That's 8 ties and all the big names in. Could just be knock-out the whole way.
