Just figured I'd see what kind of ideas everybody has for MLS teams third jerseys. I don't have skill with photoshop, so all I can really do is tell you my ideas. First one is Philly. Navy blue with city flag color yellow. Vertical stripes. Three blue, two yellow. This could also just be there new jerseys next year. Very Fenerbache like. Houston-All black, orange accents. Think AS Roma style. NYRB-Gray unis, with blue accents. The same color of gray silver as the cans. Portland-Rose colored, no accents. Just nice and clean. I know they've had these before, but still. Dallas-I know I'll probably take some heat for this, but the checkered supporters flags Dallas fans have, I would like to see made into unis.
LA Galaxy third kit: gold with a blue sash, blue shorts, gold socks, white adidas accents on all. Keeps the three-colors of the current uniform, while paying homage to the classic pre-Beckham rebrand style.
San Jose Earthquakes: Although the Earthquakes already currently have a third kit (blue jersey / blue shorts / blue socks), I'm hoping that for next season they change the blue shorts to black shorts and make the blue jersey / black shorts / blue socks their primary kit color scheme like it was during the team's Golden Age (2001-2005). The current white jersey / white shorts / white socks should remain as the secondary kit. If the Quakes really must keep the black jersey / black shorts / black socks kit, then that should become the team's third kit. Optionally: for one "Turn Back the Clock Night" home game a season, the players could wear NASL red jersey / red shorts / red socks throwback kits. -G
The third red bulls kit should be the old red and black Metro look, with red shorts. The less the third kit looks like the can the better
Nobody should wear yellow except the Crew, we are the forever the one and only Yellow Soccer Team! Anyway, for the Crew, I was thinking about all red kit with white trim or the reverse, all white kit with red trim.
There has been talk on the TFC boards about 3rd kits (not including the pink set) before: Black has come up a bit: Green Blue and even Purple I'd like to see a throwback kit for the old Toronto Falcons or Blizzard
Pretty sure just about none of us would agree with something like this. On our forums, everyone is agreed that the single vertical stripe is a must-stay. We'd like to see what's already been hinted at by the FO; namely, Philadelphia flag colors -- the Sons of Ben colors.
Word on the streets is that the Sounders third jersey for next year will be a throwback to the USL days. Almost an exact replica in fact, down to the logo. Something like this...
i've got a DC third jersey from maybe 2001 or 2002, someone on here might be able to help me out. It was red with a white stitched in undershirt. the stomach has mesh on it so with the undershirt shining through it looks like pink mesh. i love the red jersey, just sucks that the mesh looks so dumb.
I think it would look nice if Houston tried the sky blue as a third jersey, maybe with some orange accent. A checkerboard pattern for Kansas City would be cool too, maybe a light and dark blue pattern.
Chicago needs to bring back the sky blue "Flag jersey" from 2005. sky blue shirt with a white stripe and/or Chicago stars, white accents. white shorts sky blue socks
Either of these two mockups (by Olegunnar20 I think) would make great third jerseys for the Whitecaps...
I would love for the Revs to get a red 3rd kit. They use to have red jerseys w/ blue horizontal stripes a long time ago. Something like that would be cool.
I would like to see many of these 3rd jersey concepts presented here actually become the 2nd jersey. The current crop of 2nd jerseys are basically white or grey (unless white is already their primary color)--- kind of boring. Chicago - flag jersey, probably the best alternate shirt MLS has ever had.
Not a bad idea, Lostt and DjTannerr even did some pretty cool mock-ups of them. My question is why are so many Galaxy fans attached to that kit? LA had several different kits and color schemes before that one and it's not like the team was it's most successful while they wore this kit. I'm not saying it's a bad kit or that all these fans are wrong, it's just it's not like it was a look exclusive to the team and I just don't get the attachment.
I could have sworn that the Gals had a purple (royal blue) and yellow kit a few seasons ago for one match in connection with teaming up with a Mexican League club. Anyway FC Dallas had a Tigres 3rd kit (which I think they only used once):
