Hey All, Just found this board recently and decided to join up. I'm a 32 year old guy from Detroit who loves Football, though I never get to watch it as much as I'd like. As you can see from my name/Avatar, I'm a huge fan of Joy Division and Post Punk music in general. I started really liking football when the World Cup was here in 94, though like many Americans I played as a kid. I've followed Celtic for quite a few years, and more recently my friends and I all arbitrarily choose EPL teams to support and I ended up with Chelsea. I've never been able to really get into MLS, though I'm sure that would change if Detroit ever got a team. Anyway, glad to be here. I grew up playing and watching hockey and love the international perspectives on the HF boards so I came here hoping for something similar and so far I'm impressed. cheers, mike
Welcome to the world of BigSoccer! Being from Detroit I know that when people say Detroit they rarely mean Detroit, more like a suburb. Where exactly are you at? I am president of a group of soccer fans trying to being professional soccer to the D. We play soccer year round, watch soccer at our "official" bar in Livonia (The Claddagh) and support the MI bucks in Pontiac. Come hang out with us this Saturday and see what it is all about. Just ask for Kruz (pronounced Cruz). Website has all the details about us motorcitysupporters.com Crap...that came off rehearshed. We are just a bunch of soccer fans really come hang out with us you'll see.
I unfortunately don't have a USA jersey, so I'll be there wearing an Argentina jersey and Tigers hat.
After a month of thinking and looking at teams researching online and watching games last week i picked southhampton
