David James was interviewed on Five Live and talked shit about Capello
People saying they reject his iron fist approach.

Graham Taylor said after the match that based on the body language and the way the players are playing that there has to be rifts within the camp. Not surprising given the size of their egos and bank accounts.

To top it off, Rooney leaves the pitch and talks shit about fans booing them; fans are furious after spending thousands of pounds to watch such abject performance and then getting slated by Rooney.

    Good news

oh and a fan got into the England locker room and right up to Beckham right before Prince William and Harry went in there. The FA have filed a complaint about the security done by FIFA.

Top notch work yet again FIFA

FIFA is having one hell of a day. Referees ruining two different games and now this? They have to be giddy about how much press they're getting.

What does Slovenia need to advance? Is a tie with England sufficient? Algeria has just shown them the blueprint for that approach.

A draw would do it. Five points is the magic number for group C

Earlier today John Terry gave a press conference in which he explicitly denied any rifts between the players and the manager. Apparently there is going to be a "strategy meeting" later today to review the team's performance vs. Algeria and plot their approach to the match vs. Slovenia.

BBC News blog post from yesterday:

    Crisis at Camp Capello

(I feel a little guilty following this stuff, but the worse England does, the better the US' chances to top the group.)

LOL at Rooney talking shit to fans. Any day Rooney wants to actually show up for a WC game, he can say whatever he wants. Until then, he's just a major disappointent on the international stage.

This isn't quite true...if the english lose (which is the worst they could do to Slovenia), we won't top the group. Slovenia will with 7 points.

Oops, you're right. A nil-nil draw in that match would be best for the US.

i think england will win v slovenia. what we hear now seems to be bottom of the barrel for them - so it can only get better. too many good players on that team, and i think adding joe cole will also help. if england win, they are thru. they know it, and they will act accordingly.

on one hand: all 4 matches in this group have been draws except for the late red card and goalie error in the Alg/Slovenia match, so this indicates 2 tight games on Wednesday.

on the other hand: I just have a feeling that the US will win and England will kick ass and the standings will end up exactly as expected (Eng, US, Slovs, Alg) despite all the surprises so far.

Next best if we win is England winning, we'd probably top the group as we are +2 goals on England.

Only if we beat Algeria by a greater margin than England beats Slovenia. (Goal differential.)

England has to beat Slovenia by a greater margin then what we do to Algeria, not the other way around. If we both win 1-0 or 2-0, we(USA) go through as #1

John Terry goes out and announces a player revolt. A clear-the-air meeting can be productive, but not when you go out and announce it beforehand. They ought to send Terry home, but they're out of central defenders.

England is in serious disarray. I have a hard time imagining them winning. They appear to be headed for the exit, and they are already preparing their exit strategy (blame the coach).
