Mexico have a good chance of beating South Africa. I think SA will have issues. Uruguay have in Forlan and Suarez one of the best partnerships in world football against a poorish France side but who are still capable of getting to the semis. Cant wait.

As usual the ref will help the home team... I know that Southafrica looks very weak and that Mexico has looked fine, but one thing is a friendly game and a totally different thing is a WC match in front of 90k crazy local fans... For me this group will be tilted in favor of the home team and France. Only clear and contundent victories will take Mexico and/or Uruguay to the next round..

I remember El Pibe saying if you do not win your first game your as good as out.

Hence why we made it in 90'. When we beat UAE 2-0.

A case could be made.... But.... In 1990 we advanced as a best third place team (1W, 1D, 1L).. In today's format we would have been eliminated.

Beckham, Obi-Mikel, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Essien, Michael Ballack, Charlie Davies...a ton of starters will be missing....

Essien is a blow. Spain today demolished a strong Polish side 6-0. Villa, Torres scored talk about making a statement.

I was disappointed by Sweet Pea - was expecting him to bring more to the game. Was very impressed by Dos Santos - he was a handful the whole game.

Guardado wasn't the player I remember either...guess thats why he didnt start

Gio is a very good player and with him on the field that team is completely different in midfield much more dynamic, on the other hand, they can't score and its a problem they've had for years. I don't think Gio will have all that space available to him though against FRA and URU.

Mexico should have won but South Africa showed well in the 2nd half. Uruguay and France game was very poor especially the French who look like they might not even make it out of the group.

Manana Sur Korea vs Grecia, Argentina vs Nigeria, Inglaterra vs EEUU.

Mexico reminded me a lot of Colombia from last decade, sans the goalkeeper.. Good team, fine players, unable to create chances or finish the few they have. SA had an acute case of scenic panic until they managed to solve the iffy Mexican defense. Uruguay and France are mediocre but maybe slightly better than the other two. As foreseen, the two teams that advance will do it narrowly... For me France and the home team have the intangibles to do it...

Lets see what Maradona have prepared for tomorrow..

Hoy voy a ver solo Argentina

If you are Colombian, you should be proud no matter if you living in Cartago or little town in Fiji.

I cannot even put into words how bad Greece have been today. Absolutely and utterly horrible. No ambition. No life. Anyways not taking nothing away from South Korea who have been exceptional today. There first win in WC (apart from hosting).
