Second thread about Uzbekistan after 2 years and 11 months!!! https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=560113&page=51
eh right before the match next week??!! How will this affect them v Al Gharafa do u reckon? Can't wait to see Pakhtakor next week btw...
Yeah, what a pity, right before the asian champions league match nest week. He said that he is very thankful for Pakhtakor, but wants to be with his family, and understood that living abroud for long time is not for him. Also he said that, he got a very good contract from one European club, but didn't mansion the name of the team.
Uzb new coach Abromov announced the squad for the upcoming friendly match against Armenia in Erevan (on 25th of May). Goalkeepers: Ignatiy Nesterov (Bunyodkor), Timur Juraev (Pakhtakor) Defenders: Maksud Karimov, Artem Filiposyan, Islom Inomov, Batir Karaev (Nasaf) Sahob Juraev, Anzur Ismailov (Bunyodkor) MF: Viktor Karpenko, Server Djeparov, Timur Kapadze, Aziz Haydarov, Jasur Hasanov (Bunyodkor), Odil Ahmedov (Pakhtakor), Lutfulla Turaev (Nasaf) FW: Zayniddin Tadjiev (Shortan), Farhod Tadjiev (Tianjin Teda, China) Geynrikh (Pakhtakor) Oh thanks God, we get rid of the defenders Anvar Gafurov and Hayrullo Karimov, now it is time to get rid of Jasur Hasanov who doesn't know anything except running to an unknown direction and a drunk Geynrikh who was our main striker couple of years ago.
Oliy League, Day 9 results. Today Dinamo 3-1 Neftchi Mashal 1-0 Lokomotiv Horazm 0-2 Shortan Olmaliq 0-0 Nasaf Navbahor 1-2 Bunyodkor (Attendance 52.000, record by now for this season) Tomorrow Pakhtkor - Metallurg Standings:
Kind of result that just makes the gulf in class between Europe and Asia really stand out. Just 18 months ago everyone was raving about Uzbekistan, and now they have been beaten by one of Europes weakest
can't really say that.. 2 goals was made by edgar manuchayan (1 penalty and 1 goal) not a prominent scorer but he is young and promising touted as armenia's finest import and uzbek has a red card early at the 15th min or so that really impact the whole game. i hope there will be highlight soon
Yeah but still they lost 3-1 to Armenia. If Uzbekistan beat Brazil 3-1 by three penalties then the whole world would be talking about the shock result. So however the goals were scored, it was still 3-1 to a minnow of Europe. Would you expect Uzbekistan to lose 3-1 to Singapore for example, because that is how it would feel.
haha i see what you mean but i would not compare the difference between the uzbek and armenia team like uzbek and singapore. armenia is not the lowest minnows for the euro zone it is more like the C-class team of euro (A-class team = Spain, B-class team = Switzerland) and uzbekistan, they have emerged to the B-class team of asia the fifa ranking listed uzbekistan as 94th and armenia as 100th i think armenia and uzbekistan are similar level but uzbekistan is slightly weaker than armenia. therefore, i would not be too surprised at the 3-1 score.
Ok i see your points, and i understand the goals via penalties and sending off's do change games, but a lot of people will just see the score. Pity more Armenia and Uzbekistan games can't be played in a regular CIS Cup, just like at club level with the rest of the old Soviet nations.
No way. He just want to move on. He stayed more time I could think in Uzbekistan, believe me. Anyway, that was good for Uzbek football, and I think they can attract any kind of coach right now. I knew Felipão personally 3 years ago. He's a nice guy...I think he liked Uzbekistan, since Central Asian countries have some common points with our southern part, where he was born.
Your right, it was time to move on. What more can he achieve right now? He doesn't really have a domestic challenge ahead of himself, it's just a two horse race all the time, so for a class coach like himself, he is wasted in the Uzbek domestic league. In Asia, the challenge this year is over. He can't wait nearly a year to start again, he would just get bored. Interesting that he has gone now though, why not wait to the mid season point in the league campaign. Future eyes on a national team again after the world cup? Possibly a job in the mid east with the new league seasons to prepare for?
I don't know. Here in Brazil people were saying about returning to NT. That's a possibility, but anyway, he'll work with a South African TV at WC. I think he could get a lot more chances being coach of Uzbek NT. I know the gov can't afford the same amount that Bunyodkor payed, but he could have a long shot. And Middle East...no. Brazil or Europe, nothing more for Felipão right now.
He really gave more things to our Football, to our players. Average atttndace at the stadiums is doubled after Rivaldo and Scolary came to our country, and I think that this is a big achievment. I really hoped that he would be our NT couch, what a pity that he is gone
Legend of Uzbek football and at the same time the most unseccesful coach of our NT, Mirdjalol Kasymov appointed as the new couch of Bunyodkor.
