“Phenomenal crowd, upper decks hanging over the field, entire sections swaying, tons of history … the whole thing was Estadio Azteca-esque... Every big American soccer game should be played in RFK. We need the home-field advantage. Done and done.”
ESPN's BIll Simmons - The Sports Guy

There has always been a fan base for Soccer in the Washington, D.C. area. The metro area is home to some of the most passionate fans of MLS, the USMNT, the EPL and youth soccer. When the Washington D.C. Chapter of The American Outlaws (AODC) was established, one of the goals was to gather all the local soccer fans and provide them with a place to cheer and share and promote the U.S. Men’s Team playing the beautiful game in a friendly environment, allowing fans to be as loud and proud as they want to be. We have come a long way since last July.

In just eight short months, we have hosted a World Cup Qualifier at RFK; packed Molly Malone’s for Viewing Parties for Friendlies and World Cup Qualifiers and become the largest chapter in terms of membership. That's right, AODC is the nation's largest American Outlaws Chapter, even with Marion Berry's membership still pending.

We wanted to invite you to join us during the build up to the World Cup. We all know that South Africa is going to be special, we hope you want to join us to experience it.

    - 5/25 USMNT vs. Czech Republic Watch Party - Can we get revenge after our loss in Germany? Want to test your ability to get up for work on Wednesday morning? Is Jan Koller still 8 feet tall? Important questions. Help us answer them!

    - 5/29 USMNT vs. Turkey Road Trip to Philadelphia - We’ll be joining the Screaming Eagles on their bus trip to Philadelphia to see our boys take on Turkey in the last home match before they head overseas. Cheesesteak, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, half finished Donovan McNabb statue, plenty to see and do. Below is the trip information:

Begin your World Cup send-off party with fellow DC area fans and return to RFK Stadium in time to catch some of the DC United – Chivas USA match in the evening.
Package includes match tickets in the supporters section and bus trip!

    • SE Members $60
    • Non-Members $65
Your tickets and seats are not confirmed until payment is received. For more information or to secure your spot, just email Jimi at roadtrips@screaming-eagles.com

    - In June we will have Viewing Parties for the U.S. matches that will be bigger and better than anything we’ve done in the past. We may reach out to you for support and assistance. Please note: IN NO WAY will we ask you to lend a hand while the match is going on. That's just not right.

We have established a friendship with some grassroots organizations that wish to promote Soccer in America and they want us to spread the word to get more people involved.

Show Racism the Red Card which wishes to increase players, management, and supporters' understanding of the inclusive heritage and diverse culture of soccer in North America and to promote young people’s participation as active and responsible citizens in a growing multi-racial and diverse society.

Free Beer Movement who are promoting one simple idea: Invite your friends to watch a Soccer match and buy them a beer. Soccer in the United States depends on a larger and more supportive network of fans that attend games, watch them on TV, and spread their love and knowledge of the game to others. Most everyone that likes beer likes free beer even more. Combine that love of free beer with an open mind towards the beautiful game of soccer and maybe, just maybe, win over a few converts.

This chapter is as much yours as it is anyone’s. Your group will become stronger with your contributions, suggestions and any assistance you can offer! All we ask is that you raise your voice as loud as you can and then some!

One of the ideas we have just recently started is wearing our Bandannas tied to our arms, heads, wrists, anywhere it is noticeable at any and all MLS matches, home or away. To show our support for the U.S. and our camaraderie. Maybe if the idea makes it to other chapters, when we see other MLS kits and the bandanna, we can give a nod as fellow AO members rather than opposing club supporters.

We are still working out final details for all 3 group stage matches (a few bars/entities are starting to formulate their World Cup plans). We will let you know as soon as we know.

I'm not sure of a spot down in Hampton Roads, but I will keep my ear to the ground (know some people down there). To join AODC, just go to http://theamericanoutlaws.com and click the link to Join AO. It will ask you what chapter you want to affiliate with and you can just find the DC chapter in the scroll down or enter it in when prompted.

When you do that, please PM me with your full name, email address and city/state you live in. I'm the AODC membership chair, and I will make sure you get added to the email list quickly.
