I thought I had heard it all until last week someone asked me if we spoke Portuguese in Chile... then I got horrible flashbacks of similar situations in high school... the horror, the horror.

so is corinthians the san lorenzo brazilian version? dont forget they are the one one from the BIG5 in ARG who never won a libertadores.
Guys, If you wonder Why Francis likes troll in this forum This is the main reason: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZqo4OZ0Pqs"]YouTube- Scott Steiner - He's Fat![/ame][ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihOPmRXvDoc&feature=related"][/ame] And shame for Corinthians, I wanted them to be in 4tos de final.
Esa me parece discutible.
Anybody who watched both the home and away Corinthians vs Flamengo matches could tell that Corinthians wouldn't make it far. In all honestl, having Ronaldo upfront is like playing with 10.
Nope. I personally am not sure if it was truly obstruction or not (although I do think it was), but if it was, then when the ball parts Seymour's foot, everything and anything that happens afterward should have been invalidated. The offside rule is pretty clear on that. There's no gray area whatsoever like some seem to think. And also, the Alianza goal was controversial as well, but it did enter the net.
The ball doesn't look to go completely over the line. I'm looking at the positioning of the goalies feet and the position of his arms that are in a forward motion and the adjacent goal posts. I don't see the ball crossing over 100%.
He gets called up to the NT once in awhile but he's not a solid on the roster, he's actually officially with Estudiantes but got loaned out to Olimpia then to Alianza. He is a good player tho, I wouldn't mind him coming back to Olimpia.
why are people still talking about the goal vs. Alianza???? its over, history , there is nothing that can be done.. get over it!
As you said "personally", in other words "in your opinion". Fair enough: you don't think the goal should have counted...but like it has been discussed, technically speaking the goal was an own goal. And yes the offside rule/law is pretty clear. However, if my team is attacking, I am standing by the corner flag, a teammate of mine shoots and the ball goes in thanks to a deflection off a defender, that's an own goal. That's also pretty "cut and dry". Fwiw, I think the call could go either way in this particular case. What bothers me is all the whining (done by Peruvians) considering Alianza's pseudo first goal. No, it did not: certainly not completely. As you said "the rule is pretty clear on this"...: the ball has to go in completely.
No, I said "personally" as in "personally." I, like most people could never be sure if that was indeed obstruction - seeing as how it's a very messy play and there's no camera angle from the goalkeeper's point of view. Sure it's cut and dry. But what's also cut and dry is that if it is indeed offside, then like I said, "anything and everything" after that is invalidated. Although if that was the case, standing by the corner flag wouldn't have been offsides, because that player obviously wouldn't be interfering with the play. What bothers me, is you guys being so stubborn and not accepting that if it indeed was obstruction, it wouldn't have mattered how or who headed the ball in. Actually no. If 75% of the ball crosses the line, it's a goal. And that's FIFA rules. We're never going to agree (although I do think everything it's as clear as water ), so let's just agree to disagree. Hell, I'm not even an Alianza fan!
