Cuper confirmed that he was about to change Adu and he congratulated Adu for responding positively when he understood that.

My comment is that this was a "wake up call" for Freedy. He showed signs of an ambitious player and didn't want to give up.

Well done from me. I believe in him.

Has the fifth place team ever won the Greek CL playoffs?

Maybe Cuper could learn a lesson from that also.

Congrats for your Americans! A big win for Aris too!
Cuper hymns for Adu right now at press conference. Details later.

No. But that's the 3rd playoffs. There's still long way though, we're playing againsst PAOK on Sunday at their home. It's a difficult game. If one of your boys scores in there and we win their putting their name in the hall of fame.

EJ and Edu not only start but were the differences in the game today. That's a huge confidence booster for both. Cuper trusted them and they came through. No bigger staisfaction for a coach and a player. Well done boys. Well done. I'm pulling for both to be including in the WC squad. Playing and succeeding in a pressure filled game, like this, will score you some points with Bob. It must.

if they win this sunday, that will put them in 1/2 place. they can then really make a push for it.

He is a good coach. Adu is in the right place. What happens for the WC, happens. Just hope he stays at Aris as long as possible.

This does show some mental toughness from Freddy...not sure if we have seen this side of him before...hopefully this is the moment that the light bulb went on for him that all footballers fight for their spots on a daily basis...I am glad he chose to fight through it...signs of good things to come?

I agree that for the first 70 minutes or so, EJ was pretty poor (aside from the goal). I thought, though, that in the last 20 or so he was a handful for the Olympiakos defense. He drew a number of fouls, held the ball up fairly well...basically took some pressure off of the Aris defense (as Olympiakos was putting on a fair amount of pressure).
