my dream podium would be lyon - marseille - lille, but hoping in any case for these three. lille always puts up a good showing in europe, whereas bordeaux never did anything until this season, and next year who knows what their squad will look like? they''l be short chamakh and fernando for sure, some or all of gourcuff, tremoulinas, jussie and ciani, and perhaps blanc will move on as well. the only player might have to do without is hazard.
I dont think Fernando is going anywhere. He wanted to go to Genoa remember and when he wasnt going I thought I thought he changed his mind and chose to extend. Chamakh is not a hard player to replace considering he doesnt score a lot and if you believe the Hoarau rumors then that is a definate upgrade. As far as Bordeauz not doing anything in Europe until this year, well I know they made the UEFA Cup final in '96 and I looked it up and they did make the European Cup semi finals in 1986.
Hoarau isn't going anywhere , unless Bordeaux is willing to spend 15+ million euros . I've just realised there's a real possibility that Auxerre AND Montpellier can finish 2nd and 3rd place , this will be terrible . Also , it reminds me how bad we've been this season .
maybe we should send stage reims and saint etienne to the CL! no, that part of my post comes from residual anger about seeing good, solid bordeaux teams getting walked over by european giants like anderlecht, galatasaray and osasuna, and getting the impression they were happy to be knocked out.
Hoarau landing on any of the top clubs would be a devestating additon, and he could probably be bought for 10-15 mil, considering how PSG is run.
i think you mean you can't believe it. me neither, et pourtant... bordeaux being champion i could accept (though twice on the trot would have got my knickers in a twist) but OM? champions? OL-AJA is too far from the end to know nything but if it was J38 i'd be willing to lose, even if it meant playing the europa cup, if that would make auxerre champs. my dream OM is one i can fit in my car ashtray.
What are the chances of Bordeaux and Lyon BOTH passing Auxerre ? I know Auxerre has to lose points and Bdx and OL have to win out but do you think its possible ? Im not too worried about Montpellier but Im wondering how many more pts Auxerre need to mathematically secure 2nd.
not even almost here. especially since they started putting henrique on the field. burn in hell devil swine!
Forget it. Its over for them. They cant even beat Lorient. Too many injuries. I think Cavenaghi right when he criticized the offensive tactics. I thoght Cavenaghi should be playing with Chakmah all year instead of sitting on the bench. Why he continues to play with 1 CF I have no idea.
Auxerre wont be able to cut it in the UCL unless they do a major overhaul. What a waste of a spot. Why are we such a Cinderella league?
OM 1-0 Allez Allez, not the greatest of wins but the boys keeps the pace. I guess I classify as a hater but I would love to see the face of Aulas if the fixture congestion kicks him out of the champions league next season he could use a ego deflation. Got a pretty easy schedule though so I doubt Montpelier and Lille can deny them the 3rd spot but looks like the runner ups place is really Auxerre's to lose now.
start by admitting the basic truth behind all the aulas hate: that any club would love to have him for president. and that must go quadruple for marseille. c'mon, dassier doesn't need any ego to be grating beyond belief.
Honestly, that's better if the team that will win the championship or will take part of the CL is not known before the start of season. It was so annoying when Lyon won the championship 7 times in a row. Sure, it's not that good when it comes to performances in Europe since it's better to have the same teams to gain experience, to have the money for the CL... That's just my opinion, the Champion's League is beyond boring. It's always the same few teams that compete between themselves to win it. Those teams draw more interested, more money so I doubt it'll change anytime soon (I believe that this season is a mistake, though). As for Auxerre. I doubt it's good for them to reach the CL. They are kinda bad, their tactic is simple : we defend and perhaps we'll score on a counter-attack. This kind of tactic works once not twice. If they reach the CL, I have no doubt that they'll fight for the survey in L1 during the next season. That's not far from reflecting the real quality of their roster.
Everybody enjoys Marseilles in Champion's League but what have they done lately ? They were less impressive than Bordeaux and even Lille who did better things... Auxerre is a nice team with good players aiming to show-off like Jelen... Lille could do well too...
You had to write ... because you could not find any other good player at Auxerre. I won't join the Pedretti bandwagon. This guy is good at Auxerre, good for him but he's not good enough to success in a better club so to me he's not a good player. Even Fernandez is realistic about the quality of the team he's coaching. They are just the Toulouse of 2010, they defend, they counter attack. It's a miracle season for them. It worked this season but I take the bet that it won't work during the upcoming season. Lille are far superior. Hazard, Gervinho, Rami, Balmont, Mavuba, Cabaye, that's a quality team, Auxerre aren't.
landreau, débuchy, frau, chedjou, beria... even when you go farther down the order their roster is honorable: obraniak, vittek, emerson, aubameyang...
