According to some sources, Fabian Irigoyen of C.A. Fenix in Uruguay was born in New York in 1990. Wikipedia doesn't show him on their roster page, though he is listed on the club's site: http://www.cafenix.com.uy/Plantel.html However, I'm not sure that's up to date and he doesn't appear to have played in the club's latest matches. Anyone who finds more, please post...
Despite their good form this season Fenix is a near amateur side… If he was in Nacional, Peñarol, Danubio, Defensor Sporting or even Montevideo Wanders I´d be interested..
Well first off we don´t even know if he even considers himself American. I just think we should not go over board on this one, Hoyos at least has interest from and in Playing with the NT. This guy... 0.. I live in Uruguay and seen Fenix this season and not a peep from this guy.
Hmm I have never seen him play but I checked my FIFA game He is pretty good for his age. I wonder if he would want to play for the US. FIFA 10 has him rated the same as O.Gonzalez
I think his team is top 4 right now. He is on the roster http://www.soccerway.com/teams/uruguay/centro-atletico-fenix/squad/
It's funny that his name came up. I actually know Fabian Irigoyen... although I'm not his agent I'm trying to help him develop his game. Back in 2008 the U-18 US National team came to Uruguay to play. As I knew the coach (Dave Sarachan) I spent quite some time with them. Irigoyen introduced himself as he wanted a chance to tryout with the national team. Along with Dave we started working on that opportunity but then he moved to be assistant coach for LA Galaxy. I kept contacting the youth national teams, especially Rongen to give him a chance but they were dedicated to the World Cup and there was nothing we could do. Now I'm moving some contacts to get him a trial with an MLS club. He is at Fenix but didn't make his professional debut yet, he is the captain of the reserve team and has been in the bench of the first team many times... but no luck yet. He is a very decent defender and defenitely a hard worker... the only problem that I see is that he might not be tall enough to be a central defender. I hope all these helps and if you know of any MLS teams willing to look at him let me know and I will make the necessary arrangements! Regards to all.
Well I'm sure he must have skill. I think any MLS team would be willing to give him a chance. From what I see on my game he is good for his age but there are others on his team who are better than him so that is why he doesn't start. We don't have any other 1990s who are as good as him at CB so hopefully he can get some playing time somewhere because we could really use him.
If you have any connections or anything like that let me know. He is under contract until 2013, but he'll be in the States at the end of May for at least 20-30 days. If we can arrange a trial or something like that for him that would be awesome. You can contact me at info@players4export.com or rodrigoalonso@hotmail.com Best regards, Rodrigo Alonso
Sorry but I don't know if I can be of much help. I tried mentioning something about him in the other threads. Hope you can contact someone because I think for his age he is pretty good and I know we could really use him.
There is a goalkeeper named Pablo Del Prestito, a friend of mine, who is very talented looking for a Trail in MLS or a club in the US or Latin America. to get in contact with him.... http://www.youtube.com/user/PablodelPrestito#p/u/8/ZWGjdsKZkfw Also I got a Facebook response from Fabian regarding that he felt American and he has been playing in the reserves for Fenix... I would like Fabian to know that I was not looking down on him for playing in Fenix. I just think that Americans who playing in Latin American leagues are not really on USSF radar, with the exceptions being in Mexico, Argentina, or Brazil.... I just don´t see a American playing in Fenix in Uruguay being on the must have list for the way USSF operates. I wish him luck and hope he can land in nacional jejejej Mods note - please don't post email addresses here - especially if they are not your own.
I don't know if Fabian Irigoyen will be on the US radar anytime soon but I'm sure if he trains hard and tries to develop into a better player then by the next World Cup he will be considered. In fact because of his age he would be a defensive option for the Olympics so tell him just to keep working on his skill and if he really wants to play for the US someday I believe that he will get his chance. Once again sorry I can't be of much help, I'm just a fan of the sport.
I just wanted to add that if you go to Major League soccer website and then to a club's webpage then I'm sure you can find some contact info. there and possibly see about get a trial or something. FC Dallas, CHIVAS USA, LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo are always doing that kind of stuff. Houston Dynamo has some trials going on this month of April. You can go to their Dynamo Trials page for info. I'm sure by going to the other club webpages you can can find more info about trials,etc...
Irigoyen's height is not too bad because I've seen shorter players like J.Bornstein start for CHIVAS USA and CHIVAS Guadalajara/Mexico use J.Magallon who is the same height as Fabian.
I have several other leagues on my game that are not on the original. Bolivian, El Salvadorian, Argentine, Uruguay, and they are all up to date.
Thought I'd break up this video game discussion with a little news: a first-team debut for Fabian! FENIX: Danilo Lerda, Gerardo Varela, Jonathan Piriz, Santiago Fogst., Cristian Machín, Fernando Sellanes (90' Fabián Irigoyen), Claudio Rivero, Rene Lima, Maximiliano Ruocco y Carlos Aguiar. Director técnico: Rosario Martínez. http://www.tenfieldigital.com.uy/servlet/hntdide?0,0,5/,1,64753,1,1,0 I heard from Fabian recently, and learned a few things -- some of which may be redundant in terms of stuff already mentioned here. He moved to Uruguay when he was four. Neither of his parents are American; still, he seems to have pretty decent English. He has family in the States. His contract with Fenix ends summer 2013. He says he can play center back and center midfield. And it sounds like he's very interested in MLS and, potentially, the U.S. team. (As a 90, He's eligible for the next U23 squad when it convenes.)
Thanks for the info. Nice to hear that he got his first start. Like I said before, all he has do is get his agent of someone to contact a MLS club or go to one of their trials and can get a look at.
Dude, FC Dallas would be the perfect team for this guy. Get in contact with them in their website and I'm pretty sure that the coach would give him a chance to trial with them.
