Anyone else get the feeling Dempsey was sitting at home watching the Don set the EPL on fire during his injury lay-off, and decided to just remind us all that he's not exactly chopped liver?

That was in the qualifying round for the Champions League proper.

Wow, fell asleep at 1-1, just woken up to this.

Amazing goal by Dempsey. By scoring such a great goal at such an importnat time, Dempsey has assured that he will be a Fulahm legend (of even greater proportion than McBride) forever.

He already had a special place in Fulham history after scoring the goal against Liverpool that kept them up a few years ago.

Clint now has three of the most notable YA goals in history now, including the Liverpool goal, and the ridiculous goal he scored earlier this year from 30 yards out, can't remember against who.

This goal is bigger, trust me, there were still 2 games after that Liverpool game and there were other goals taht were equally repsonsible.

Fulha thoguh have never beaten an interntaional giant like Juventus and beating them 4-1 afetr being 3-1 down in the first leg, especially as the win was clinched by such a great goal, this is one of the biggets noghts in fulham's history.

Fulham hero Dempsey: the Gamble Paid Off

Dempsey told ESPN: ''I just thought, what the heck and tried to put it in the far post and it went in. Nine times out of 10 you won't make it but sometimes you've got to take a risk.

It is less than two years since Fulham only escaped relegation from the Premier League at the death and Dempsey added: ''It's life, everything changes and you have to keep working hard.''

Dempsey will appear for the United States at the World Cup this summer with Zamora currently an outside bet for England.

See what I said below, I think the actual importance of that goal is magnified a little on the West side of the Atlantic.

I don't think you can underestimate what this (v Juventus) goal will do to his stature at Fulham.

Clint's had some pretty huge goals for Fulham. This one might be the biggest. The liverpool goal was pretty huge, but so was the dramatic header off a corner against Chelsea last season to tie that game 2-2. Oh, he also scored Fulham's first in that match!

Stoke goal was pretty, but not that important, as they ended up losing the match.

Does no one remember the 15 yard header, falling away in the dying freezing moments against Chelsea?

For my money, the greatest single goal of any YA.

Well, I wasn't arguing about which goal was more important, just noting that he already had a special place in Fulham history because of that Liverpool goal. And trust me, English fans remember that goal very fondly. It's not just Americans.

Ray Hudson can be grating if you have to listen to him for like five games in a row, but I just love him for moments like this, when he utterly explodes with strings of words that you had no idea could exist together.

I like Hudson. I was busting a gut when he referred to Dempsey as "Hodgson's Yankee Boy".
