Wow i had completely lost track and had forgotten about Pinilla, i didnt know he was in Serie B and now to hear that he is one of the top scorers and many serie A teams are after him bring me joy, So is there any possibility of him making it to the WC since it looks like he is tearing it up in Italy??

 

Theoretically, there is always the chance that he might make the squad but there is 2 other factors to keep in mind:

1. Pinilla was not called up for the friendlies vs. CR/N. Ko. that were supposed to be played last Wed. (and were cancelled as a result of the 'quake). That was the only FIFA date left so if he does get consideration (which seems unlikely), it would probably be for a pre-trim final squad that Bielsa will work with starting in May-ish.

2. Suazo is a "shoe-in" for one of the striker spots but then the fight is between Mancilla from Toluca and Paredes from Colo Colo. Both have been called regularly into the NT and Paredes has even scored a few goals (Mancilla has been rather unlucky as far as PT go). If Pinilla is to be considered, these 2 def. have to be considered.

in addition to Suazo, Mancilla, and Paredes you have Alexis, Mark Gonzalez, and Fabian Orellana was forwards likely to go to the WC...

injuries do happen though, especially with Chilenos... i'm thinking if either of the first three go down Pinilla will probably get a call up....and maybe even if its Mark or Fabian that are injured...

Bielsa has said that he's been following him, he couldn't possibly be doing any better where he's at, and has him as an alternative

 

So in conclusion, as far as Pinilla is concerned, unless an injury and/or major surprise takes place, he's probably not going to South Africa (but that's not to say he won't make the NT post-WC). If someone wanted my opinion D), I'd say the guy deserves/deserved at least a chance in a friendly: in addition to being in great (goalscoring) form right now, he offers something no other Chilean striker has and that is ht. and aereal prowess. Now, speaking of the devil...

No creo que a Pinilla le convenga irse al Inter, al contrario deberia irse a un equipo chico de primera, y/o si asciende con el Grosetto deberia jugar por ellos en primera, como minimo. Sin desmerecer su capacidad futbolisitica y goleadora, no veo a quien le quitaria el puesto en el Inter, a Etoo? A Balotelli?
No creo.

 

Pinilla is definitely a player that has the talent, maybe now his time has come to shine in a bigger club.

Reggina de Carlos Carmona sigue cuesta abajo en la Serie B

El equipo del seleccionado nacional cayó como local ante Modena.

El ex Coquimbo y O'Higgins fue titular y se ganó tarjeta amarilla.

El conjunto de Reggina, con el chileno Carlos Carmona en cancha, sigue cuesta abajo en la Serie B italiana ya que este sábado cayó como local por la cuenta mínima ante Modena.

Con el seleccionado nacional como titular durante los 90 minutos, Reggina no logró revertir el tanto de Michele Troiano (14') y desperdició una nueva oportunidad de sumar puntos en su intento de mantenerse en la serie de ascenso.

Con este resultado, se quedó en la 19° ubicación con 33 unidades y sólo supera por diferencia de gol a Triestina que este lunes debe jugar ante Albinoleffe.
