Starting this thread to see if there's any TV, which I doubt.

But let's just say Chelsea are playing quite well at the moment, while the Toffies need to get offie their collective arse after that last performance.

Fellaini's status is listed from "major doubt" to "unknown" which bodes from ill to fatal for Everton. The most hopeful thing I can say at this point is that the match is at Goodison Park.

Yet while I think Ashley Cole is quite a good player, and a very fast player, I also happen to think he's a major tool. So, let's see LD finally have one of "those" matches for his adopted club and really make things happen. Here's to the upset.

I think even many Chelsea fans secretly loathe Cole. That being said, can anyone name five better leftbacks on the planet right now?

I haven't really paid any attention to non-premiership football this year, so I'll just stick that for now...

    Patrice Evra
    Patrice Evra clone #1
    Patrice Evra clone #2
    Patrice Evra clone #3
    Patrice Evra clone #4

Oh and I still think Leighton Baines could give him a run - same with Clichy. Gareth Bale also has his moments.

I was going to be sarcastic but the last part made me chuckle.

Find me a fullback other than Ashley Cole that would make Fergie switch Ronaldo to the opposite side in a CL final.

Clichy is a pace merchant playing in defense and looked awful especially against United, Evra while good hasn't had the same form he was having in 07/08, Bale is meh, Baines is above average but like Bridge will be behind Ashley Cole until he retires.

Only one worth mentioning would be Chivu but he's made of glass.

There's no consensus on the lineup most Evertonians are expecting from Moyes, but many are predicting a conservative lineup like this.

    --------------Howard--------------

    Neville---Senderos---Distin---Baines

    Donovan---Osman---Heitinga---Bily

    ----------Cahill---Yakubu----------

Another popular choice is to keep Senderos on the bench, Heitinga at centerback, shift Neville to central midfield and play Coleman at rightback. That would have interesting implications for Donovan.

Ronaldo was playing forward/attacking mid in the Champion's League final against Chelsea - as he had been doing for much of that season.

That said I fully admit to being biased for Utd and Evra, so perhaps you're right. However, if put at gunpoint, I'd take Evra before Cole.

I would've thoguht Heitinga would play.

It's a tough came for Everton, if it was at Stamford Bridge I wouldn't have given them much of a chance with the way Chelsea are playing right now. As it stands they're still very much the underdogs despite their improved form.

Patrice Evra and Phillippe Lahm are on his level imo.

One level down you get Clichy, Abidal, Zhirkov, Capdevila, and the like

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ferguson played a 4-3-3 against Chelsea in the CL finals...Ronaldo often switched sides to try to expose the other teams weakness.

It's difficult to plug that team into a system formation of any kind. You had roles more than position from the midfield going forward. While Vidic, Rio, Gary Neville, and Evra definitely has positions along the back line - it was all mixed up afterwards. You had Carrick and Scholes being the passing/holding mids centrally, Owen Hargraeves was your wing for that match (I think, and I think on the right), Tevez was your stay at home finisher in the box - a classic #9 position, while Rooney and Ronaldo basically did whatever the hell they wanted. You could call that a 4-4-2. a 4-3-1, or a 4-5-1. Those were the roles though. Two central midfielders, two free wheeling attacking midfielders, a finisher in the box, and a single winger on whatever side you wanted, but not both.

Sorry for taking this off topic, but I guess we're just killing time till the match starts.

To make up for it, here's a random interview from Everton's website with a pair of Radio 1 announcers, regarding the upcoming match.

To be fair to him, he's ok in midfield.

in the name of everything holy, please keep clichy out of any discussions like this. he's been bad to horrible for the past 2 seasons, and downright disgusting the past 3-4 games for them.

From a Chelsea perspective I would love it if Senderos started. He is Drogba's bitch and then some.

I agree. If I had to choose, I would take Cole over Evra, and Lahm over Cole.
