dunno how the midfield lined up, but in the back it would've surely been spurr on the left, purse & beev in the middle, and buxton on the right.
yeah really just toying with the "ap" on here. kinda cool though... check this line up: [LINEUP-4-3-3]pookspur, Durruti, JBO, Owl In Exile, SouthSWFC,IvanIV, JFD,bradders, aylesburyowl, Paul Stomach,Beastie[/LINEUP-4-3-3]

yeah, i figured soares would have been on the wing. but i know laws had used him a bit in the middle, so i wasn't certain that irv hadn't either.
true, and he wasn't able to keep what quality they had. but kcsc is undoubtedly right, too. the 'big' acquisitions that laws made were pretty crap.
well, he couldn't very well say, "i'm afraid you're going to have to go back cardiff city, mr. purse. and, oh, i'll have richard wood back now, thankyouverymuch." i don't mean to heap it all on those transfers ... if wood wouldn't re-sign, and was forcing his way out, then, sure, he had to go. and i, like most others, thought purse looked a decent enough acquisition. but something turned spurr/buxton/beevers+1 from a quite promising looking back line to a steaming pile of poo ... and the '+1' is a likely candidate, as i see it. that said, apparently no one in midfield (or anywhere) will show for the ball, nor move having got rid of it, so that's the whole team fooked, then. can't really put that on on purse ... (or, as captain, maybe we can). hell, i don't know. i guess i really don't have anything pertinent to add beyond yesterday's post ... it doesn't look good.
You didn't look too bad yesterday, definitely worth the draw although we had a few chances to nick it late on. It's so tight down there though so I'm not going to make a prediction on who'll go down.
I haven't given up hope yet. We've got 10 games left. If we can nick 3 or 4 wins in the run in, and hope that Scunthorpe, Palace, Derby and Watford drop points, we can probably secure 18th. Just stay up, and then allow Irvine to re-mould the team in his own image over the summer. Plus if this American takeover bid comes through, it might inject some cash into the club. Shed some dead weight, bring in some eager new talent... silver lining and all that. The three most crucial games will be the oens against Derby on March 20, Watford on March 24 and Palace on the last day of the season. If we can win those three, and pick up one more win and a couple of draws elsewhere... we *should* be OK. Just.
palace have too much quality (only the deduction has them where thay are), imo, and colin's already got qpr safe. watford and derby might get dragged into it, it's true; but i think it's ultimately down to wednesday and scunthorpe. if wednesday show the drive - and composure at the back - in the run-in that they've shown in the last two, i think they'll be safe. dispite the game in hand, if i'm scunny, i don't like my odds.
scunthorpe has gone up one to plymouth in the second half. wednesday level with derby late. bad day for wednesday if those scorelines stand.
yup. and games are running out. mildly frustrating that the team is really (apparently ... it's not like i actually see them) starting to come together a bit, but that it's not paying off in the table. watford is a must win, now. if wednesday don't get all three from that, i think it may be too much. at least they seem to have a bit of fight now ... so it's not over.
