Being a professional is about more than just talent. Working your ass off and never wilting under pressure count for a lot.

I know and I mentioned it in another thread I'm rooting FOR ALL of them. But Besides Tchani and Da Luz (GA and Senior contract) I'm rooting for Garcia not only to make the team but to be a good/great player! I like the kid and I think that people looked at his size and passed up on him so I'm hoping he proves everyone wrong

Garcia "La Pulga de NY" :D

i don't really know why the size is so important for you guys....

Messi is not big (5 ft 7 in), however is the best soccer player in the world (this past year :))

What is the size of Garcia?

Nope I don't care about size, but the mentality in the states tends to be on getting big athletes (since that's what the NFL and NBA always go for), I rather have good soccer players.

To answer your other question I think he's 5'5"...

Anyways here's an update about our draft picks minus Ream.

That may well be your HONEST opinion, but you certainly can't say its anything near the truth. Every single thing there is subjective, and not one single comment there is objective, meaning inbiased fact. OK, the "nobody'' part is a downright insult. The rest is subjective.

    1) Nobody knows if he'll make the roster. 2) If he does, nobody knows if it'll be a senor spot or developmental spot. One can certainly extrapolate which is more likely, but one doesn't KNOW. 3) Nobody knows that if he's lucky (or good) enough to make the roster on a developmental slot, that he would be assured of just riding the bench. Out of 25 guys that suited up last year, Danleigh Borman was 9th in minutes and starts, and he was a developmental player.
    Just sayin'...

I bet I won't be far off if at all.

I trust my opinion enough and have seen enough draft classes to know this guy at best is fighting for a dev spot. Given the lack of them now as opposed to 2008 and the emeragance of signing academy players there are less spots available. Also our senior roster is near maxed out with additions still to come.

Just in case anyone forgot, Juan Agudelo, has been offered a contract by the Red Bulls and according to his facebook page he is deciding between Millionarios and the Red Bulls. Soler indicated today that he will be meeting with his agent soon. Agudelo who is 16 years old is a true academy product having developed through the organization and considered by many to be prospect from their development system with the most upside.

Soler and Backe need to show they have Nowak type pull with MLS and get them to make the bug GA offer for this kid, he's going to be something special.

looks to me like the team is willing to go into the season with the defenders they have, so they didn't bother drafting in that area. Tchani and Daluz should contribute greatly to the team just with their ability to play technical soccer. That will ultimately help the defense to relax, and make better decisions. Im a big fan of Daluz, and felt he was a much better player than Bone. Garcia looks to be a good player himself. Im a huge fan of south american soccer, so to see two kids who can string a few passes, dribble, and open up the field for RB is great . Just what the doctor ordered. I think Angel will be very happy this year. I really don't see why people are so down about these kids.

I also like "El Chiquitin", however since there is already a "Chiqui" Garcia in Mexico I would want to avoid confusion.

How about "Enanito" Garcia? or "Pulgarcito" Garcia? When making signs, fans could play around with the whole dwarf concept in many ways:

    from the cute
    [IMG]

to the sporty logo (think of a similar ny version for soccer)

    to the warrior/fantasy epic look

Let's actually wait and see if he:

    a) Makes the cuts and is on the roster.
    b) Puts some time on the field so we can give him a name that fits.
