I'm surprised Boca didn't make an attempt to bring him back, considering how Napoli were willing to negociate a loan, Datolo needs to capture Maradona's attention for the WC, and I'm sure he would love to return to Argentina. It's true that Los Xeneizes already signed Matias Gimenez who plays in that position, but it still would have been a good idea to go after him, IMO.

Anyone know how much Olympiakos paid for the loan deal?

So it's official Bolatti signed with Fiorentina?

According to UEFA.com the deal is done pending a medical.

I think its a shame. I obviously wish he had come to Boca. In regards to the player, I wonder how much playing time he will get because he wants to make the WC team and I don't know much about Fiorentina's midfield. They are still in the Champions League so that should be a good experience for him.

Also, posing a question about Mascherano's club future. There were rumors about him going to Barca but I'm not sure if that will happen given the emergence of Busquets. Where do people think Masch should go? I really doubt he will stay at Liverpool as they aren't going to be in the Champions League next season.

Based on pure speculation, I see Javier either at Inter or ManCity. Inter because I think it's a perfect fit for him and City because they would overpay for him. I agree though that his Liverpool days are numbered.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him at Inter. Milan would also be a good move but I don't think they're going to pay what Liverpool will ask.

Masch will be into the last year of his contract next season, so really he has the upper hand, either Liverpool take what they can get for him or keep an unhappy player and see him leave for free. Bear in mind that Liverpool may not be in the CL next season and have massive debts. I still think he will end up at Barca as Pep seems to be a huge fan.

He ran right through the defence like they weren't even there.

Zarate really should be playing in the NT.

Zarate looks like he's gained weight.

He hasn't done enough this season to warrant a place in the NT, Aguero, Tevez, Messi, D. Milito, Higuain are all way ahead of him and so are Lisandro and Saviola on current form.

Cristian Fabbiani is facing a forced return to Romania, after his loan to River expired. Any news from Argentina on this guy, as CFR Cluj officials say that he won't be welcomed back...

He previously mentioned that he refuses to ever play again in Romania. Right now he is said to be close to sealing a deal with Argentine club Huracan.

Besides CFR Cluj officials' sayings, what are the opinions in Romania about Fabbiani's issue?

Well Fabbiani's deal with Huracan ultimately fell off. El Ogro could still join a different club, though it is said that he might be taking the next 6 months off and maybe even end his professional soccer career. I doubt the latter would happen, though rumors are going around saying it's a possibility.

Andres, in fact Fabbiani was very much appreciated in Romania and even when he was overweight, lots of people admired his talents and admitted he's a naturally gifted CFWD. But the fact is that CFR is trying to offload him and are still waiting for loan offers for the player, as buying offers are hard to find these days. Their idea is that El Ogro will impress eventually at one club or another and they'd be able to sell him...
In my opinion, he won't return to Romania, but won't give up football as someone mentioned here. That's just a trick, an attempt to force CFR's board to realize that they cannot expect anything from him anymore...

Interesting. I find it weird he won't return to Romania, where he was appreciated and had some success.

There's a rumour floating that Gabriel Milito could join his brother Diego next season at Inter.

We'll see what happens - CFR Cluj decided to release him on a free transfer, so now it is really just up to him. Steaua's interest could be fading away, after resigning a Colombian centre-forward, Pepe Moreno, alongside the Greek Pantelis Kapetanos. He would be the third CFWD, which I kinda doubt...

Hmm... In top of that it's rumoured that a couple of argentine clubs could still be interested in him... Talk about a roller coaster of changing mind.

It seems that Licha and Chelito let Sergio Ramos have it after the game.Pipita came in and got between them. A couple days before the game Ramos opened his mouth and said we would beat Lyon 3-0. Ramos is a little punk, just like Guti.

It seems that Licha gave the team inspiration.

"The leading players have been setting an example since, with Argentine striker Lisandro Lopez scribbling a note with simple words urging the players to fight to the limit before Wednesday’s match. The message proved an inspiration."

Anyone know about Lucas Barrios? He has a great goal scoring record but seems to be overlooked. Why did his career take so long to get off?

Maybe he was under the radar because he played in Chile, but he certainly was very successful for Colo Colo.

Barrios scored 2 goals on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen, he has now scored 15 goals and is only one goal away from the leading goalscorer of the Bundesliga (Stefan Kießling)
