    I don't either.

Last chance for this World Cup? Sure. Although he'd have to be pretty spectacular in the next 3 months. I mean...REALLY spectacular.

He's 20 years old. He could "fail" for 4 more years and still turn it around.

I dont think its his last change for europe, but for this time in his life? Maybe.

He, like I would, come back to my comfort zone and regroup if shit goes bad.

I come to MLS, go to a team which I would work well for, and start all over. Work my way out.

This is of course, if he fails at aris, which i am hoping he wont. :)

Yea, I dont think he has a chance at teh WC roster unless he TEARS IT UP in the next couple months in greece making news.

Kjlestan got a call-up again from being decent in MLS. If Adu is at least decent over a long stretch of games in a better Greek League playing for a top-5 team and under Hector, wouldent Bob be interested to see where he is?

^^^Sacha is different. BB has a special place in his heart for him and Bornstein. Both were his pupils when at chivas USA. Adu, not so much.

But yes, if he does well in the coming months, I dont see why he wouldnt get a sniff in some friendlies to show what hes got?

Given the huge fitness question marks regarding our striker depth, I think Freddy will definitely get a look if he plays regularly in Greece. But..will he get to play regularly?

Of course. I don't doubt it for one second. Freddy has gotten how many caps under Bradley? 13-14? And he was doing jack in club football for many of those. Bob wants Freddy to succeed.....he's given him plenty of opportunities.

I truly believe that if Freddy is playing consistently between now and the Holland friendly in March.........then Bob will call him up for that match. He's got the Honduras and El Salvador friendlies with the US/Scandinavia crew, and the Holland match will probably be the Europe/Mexico crew.

Also, he was on the Confed Cup roster while not getting any playing time at the club level. He doesn't deserve to be on the WC roster if he's not getting playing time at club level and I think the GC proved he's not good enough if he's not playing regularly. If he is getting time in Greece and playing well he may very well be on the squad.

To be fair to Sacha and Bob, Sacha was better than decent in MLS. He was dominant two season ago in MLS until he started sucking it last year in qualifying.

Sorry to sound pesimistic but since this is the most bloated cow of a thread that ever was on the big soccer board I'll say this once and please don't respond...

Maybe if he fails this won't be his last shot in Europe. I think he could play in Norway upon failing in Greece. I think Maybe even Denmark or sweden...maybe. I root for Freddy because I root for my country but his career is going the wrong way so far. lets hope he stays in Europe and plays in a top flight top team if he's capable.

Your just kidding yourself about Freddy Adu. You shouldn't think A player who had one good u-20 world cup and a fair to average MLS career might be the real Adu. Just entertain the possibility he is emmm..... not so good.

You'll feel like a grown up.

(For the sake of those that check this site for Real Adu News please don't respond.)

    Interesting....

    Sacha K (20-24 Years Old)

    Chivas - 104 Apps, 14 goals
    2007-2008 U23's - 16 Apps, 3 goals

    F. Adu (14-17 Years Old)

DC United- 87 Apps, 11 goals
    2008 U23's - 5 Apps, 4 goals

Just saying, dominate seems a strong term.

Notice how Sacha can't get a contract in Europe? I wonder why??? Also notice how Inter and Man U and (who else) offered him a contract when he was a little lad which his mother turned down? I wonder why?

Why did Benfica splash all those millions? One good U20 WC? yeah right...

All these soccer knowledgeable people are clueless right?

Adu has the tools to be a great player but he's young and now we will find out if he has the heart...

Adu was the youth national team star like no other in many years sans Donovan and Demarcus...Give Adu time, if I recall Donovan's first stint in Europe ended badly as well, lets see if Adu has the guts to stick it out... ( he has the class)

    Harrumpf.
No, his career HAS GONE the wrong way. Right now, he has done the right thing by going to Hector's Aris.

    Main Entry: pa·tron·ize

2 : to adopt an air of condescension toward : treat haughtily or coolly

To be clear I'm not knocking Sacha but to call one dominate and the other a failure is strange.

Adu sucks. He had a couple of good games with Benfica but wasnt able to hold a place in the line-up. He's been through like 7 coaches in europe and they all see the same thing....

Im a Benfica fan who has seen him put on the aguia and has read the local publications about what the coaches think of him....So i think I have some imput to put here. If you dont like the obvious fact move along. His excuse for not playing up to his potential in the MLS was his age....granted he was very young. He moves on to Europe at a very young age and impressed for about half a season with Benfica. Never impressing to gain a starting roll but impressing to be an impact sub off the bench. Fernando Santos was fired and Camacho was inserted as manager....He rarely saw any time and was loaned out to Monaco when even though they were sucking it up never used him. He came back to Benfica during the pre-season and Jorge Jesus our manager who is a great personel man btw saw no use for him right from the beginning and had him train with the other players that were going to be loaned out (Balboa, Ribero...ect.)

He get sent to Belenenses...another team in need of help on the wings and in need of goal scoring and he makes probably a couple appearances before being sent back to Benfica again...where JJ looks him over and still sees no use in him. He gets loaned off to Aris and that is where hes at right now....If he fails again what is the excuse? Its been like 7 managers...they see him practice...they see him perform and they all come to the same conclusion that he sucks....or in the very least needs seasoning in the MLS. But im pretty sure you're way more intelligent than 7 men put together so forgive me

We have been through all of this multiple times in many different Adu threads, so the whole "Adu is where he deserves to be" hypothesis is not new to this forum. And as fetchingly as you've managed to convey it in your posts so far, flouncing in to tell us Adu sucks just as he begins with a new team seems like it's intended to annoy more than enlighten.
