    "Battle of New Orleans" Pre-match

I've dreamt of singing this against England for years. Is this my chance?

    BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS
    (Written by Jimmy Driftwood)
    Johnny Horton

In 1814, we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip'.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in a town in New Orleans.

We fired our guns and the British kept a-coming
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more, and they began to running,
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

It's early, but I'll start since I just came up with this :D

(To the tune of "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain")

There were 10 British soldiers on the hill
There were 10 British soldiers on the hill
    There were 10 British soldiers
    10 British soldiers
There were 10 British soldiers on the hill

And the Continental Army shot one dead
And the Continental Army shot one dead
    And the Continental Army
    The Continental Army
And The Continental Army show one dead

(repeat with one less soldier each time until...)

There were no British soldiers on the hill
There were no British soldiers on the hill
    There were no British soldiers
    No British soldiers
There were no British soldiers on the hill

Cuz the Continental Army shot them dead
Cuz the Continental Army shot them dead
    Cuz the Continental Army
    The Continental Army
Cuz the Continental Army shot them dead

We can skip the last "Cuz" part. After that we just break out into U-S-A.. or maybe God Bless America or even My Country Tis of Thee :) (since it's to the tune of God Save the Queen)

not my idea, but i like it-

You'd be Krauts if not for us,
    Doo-da, Doo-da
You'd be Krauts if not for us,
    Oh, de doo-da day

    All the live long niiiiiight
    All the live long daaaay
    You'd be speaking f***ing German
    if not for the USA!

there's also the fact that the tune for 'My Country Tis Of Thee' is from their national anthem 'God Save the Queen' (in my opinion their anthem is not a good one, at all. but that's me). i mean those who will be AT the game shouldn't sing over it, cus that would be rude. buuuut for those watching it on tv...

This is so good. I'm busting it out every time, except the team presentations/national anthems. I'll let that one go on respect.
I've already been hearing God Save The Queen too much from English friends, so I'm breaking out My Country Tis Of Thee on top of it every time!

My favorite anti-England song from Schoolhouse Rock. Needs some modification, but I love this one like none other.:

Rockin' and a-rollin', splishin' and a-splashin',
Over the horizon, what can it be? The pilgrims sailed the sea
To find a place to call their own.
    In their ship Mayflower,
They hoped to find a better home.
    They finally knocked
    On Plymouth Rock
    And someone said, "We're there."
It may not look like home
But at this point I don't care.
Oh, they were missing Mother England,
They swore their loyalty until the very end.
    Anything you say, King,
    It's OK, King,
You know it's kinda scary on your own.
    Gonna build a new land
    The way we planned.
Could you help us run it till it's grown?
    They planted corn, you know
They built their houses one by one,
And bit by bit they worked
    Until the colonies were done.
    They looked around,
    Yeah, up and down,
    And someone said, "Hurray!"
If the king could only see us now
He would be proud of us today.
They knew that now they'd run their own land,
But George the Third still vowed
He'd rule them till the end.
Anything I say, do it my way now.
Anything I say, do it my way.
Don't you get to feeling independent
'Cause I'm gonna force you to obey.
    He taxed their property,
He didn't give them any choice,
    And back in England,
He didn't give them any voice.
    (That's called taxation without representation,
    and it's not fair!
    )
    But when the Colonies complained
The king said: "I don't care!"
    He even has the nerve
To tax our cup of tea.
    To put it kindly, King,
    We really don't agree.
Gonna show you how we feel.
    We're gonna dump this tea
    And turn this harbor into
The biggest cup of tea in history!
They wanted no more Mother England.
They knew the time had come
    For them to take command.
It's very clear you're being unfair, King,
No matter what you say, we won't obey.
Gonna hold a revolution now, King,
And we're gonna run it all our way
    With no more kings...
We're gonna elect a president! (No more kings)
He's gonna do what the people want! (No more kings)
We're gonna run things our way! (No more kings)
Nobody's gonna tell us what to do!

Rockin' and a-rollin', splishin' and a-splashin',
Over the horizon, what can it be?
Looks like it's going to be a free country.

This is great. This is easy to learn and is to a tune that everyone knows. We could have very large groups of people singing this, unlike some songs that only a few fans know.

In London last year we sang to the tune of Hail ! Britania.
    F*** off, Britania !
You rule the waves no more.

There was another verse, and I hope someone on here remembers it.
