I'll add him to my list when I see him on the club's roster page or mentioned in a match report. (Anyone seen that?)
Dave, Just found this site (it might be old hat for you) but you can search from this page for Yanks. You'll have alot of MLS players and unaffiliated players, but you might turn up a couple of previously unknowns. You can search by country of birth or nationality to find Yanks. Just use the drop down boxes to the right. http://www.soccerway.com/search/players/
Thanks. I've never really messed with this site, but it seems to have some promise. It did turn up a new player in Belgium, and some other possiblities as well.
I will say that site is a little out of date for some teams. I know a former Wizard (non-American) is listed as playing for the club in Argentina he played for last season.
Dave, do you know the citizenship status of Gabriel Funes? He was the FCD's 2008 MLS Sueno winner, and made his debut for River Plate this past weekend. All I know is that he moved to the states when he was 10. I'd guess that if there was a US-eligible player actually getting first team minutes at River Plate...........we'd know it.
Far as anyone could establish during the thread we had going a while back, the Funes brothers aren't Yanks.
http://twitter.com/euanHolden Euan Holden (Stuarts little bro) says he's off to England. I would assume that is soccer related.
Dave, I didn't see Ryan Raybould on your master list. Supposedly he has played for Gelfe in Sweden the past couple years after being with Kansas City. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Raybould
What about Matthew Luzunaris, an '89 who appears to be at SK Rapid Wien II in the Austrian Regionalliga Ost? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/67558/matthew-luzunaris/profil.html Also in Austria, one of the Ochoas, Armando, another '89, w/ SC Rheindorf Altach in the Erste Liga: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/125902/armando-ochoa/profil.html Then there's San Diego-born '88 Reece Crowther of Wellington Phoenix FC, New Zealand's entry in the A-League: http://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/default.aspx?s=aleague_profile&pid=2084&tid=227 http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/64267/reece-crowther/default/2009/leistungsdaten.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver_Whitecaps_Residency Sahil Sandhu with an American flag next to his name. Says he's currently on loan at Cottbus in Germany. Where Axel Levry is.
Matt Allen (Sandefjord) and Brian Waltrip (Molde) have left their Norwegian clubs. http://fotball.aftenposten.no/eliteserien/article159042.ece
I didn't know where to post this, so I'm putting it here. Interesting piece about what the early YAs (Trittschuh and Vermes) went through. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=723319&sec=us&root=us&cc=5901
Hey Dan, Looks like another Yank potentially in Germany. I did a search on this forum and didn't see anything recent on Chris Wright, but he is an American on trial this week with Energie Cottbus' U23 side: http://www.fcenergie.de/news/news.php?ID=5525
Franky Lopez at Jaguares de Chiapas in Mexico: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1304688
