Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Taisuke Nakamura of Kyoto Sanga FC (ex Konko High School) has been called up after shining in the satellite. Very happy for him, he's the #1 candidate to substitute Daigo Kobayashi [edit: Daigo Watanabe] for the rest of the season.
Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Please somebody feed us with the scores! Games starting at 23:00 are quite hilarious, I hope the Japanese players can stay awake!
Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] You will be happy to hear that the u-19 girls just won the AFC and are headed to the u-20 World Cup next year - http://www.the-afc.com/en/afc-u19-w...2-jpn-2-1-kor-japan-crowned-asias-teen-queens http://www.the-afc.com/en/afc-u19-w...-2-1-kor-sasaki-hails-never-say-die-nadeshiko
Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Compulsive, obsessive, uh...? I just talked about Daigo for one hour two days ago, because I met one of his former coaches at Kunimi... Not sure why I always call him Kobayashi here -- gomen...
Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Completely forgot about it after posting about the U20-tournament myself Japan U20 won against a Levante UD 2-1 (Cerezo-FW Shiratani, Girona-FW Ibusuki (pen)) on August 14. Second match against a U20-selection of Brazilian state/district of Brasilia was a 1-1 draw (with Oshitani from F.C. Gifu scoring) on the yesterday night. They are currently 2nd in the Group A (4 teams with 2 teams proceeding) and have to play against the 1st placed Villareal tomorrow (and yes, Goru that is another match after a long Siesta... kick off at 2245 )
Official 2009 Japan U-20 Thread Japan U20 playing in a tournie in Spain. Players List and Scores so far here: http://www.jfa.or.jp/national_team/2009/u20/20090821/index.html Sorry, scores are in Japanese only, but so far 2-1 vs Levante U20, and 1-1 vs a representative from Brasilia (Brazil). Key game to get out of the group is today, vs Villareal U20.
Re: Official 2009 Japan U-20 Thread Ok, we continue here Goru? Anyway, Japan U20 beat Villareal 4-1! Adding to the JFA-link above, I found a blog covering the match (Japanese): http://ranrankankan-uc.seesaa.net/category/2555563-1.html Scorers for Japan: Yuki Oshitani (FC Gifu, 36 min), Jun Suzuki (Avispa, 40;90 min), Taisuke Nakamura (Kyoto Purple Sanga, 53 min). According to the report, Ibusuki (Girona) who played the first 2 matches, was not even on the bench this time. Japan will play the 2nd of Group B on Aug. 20 (CET 21:00).
Re: Official 2009 Japan U-20 Thread There you go, Taiskue Nakamura now scores in the National team (talk of the day today at Nishikyogoku), while Sanga finishes the game with Kim and Lee as forward (I swear it is true!!).
Re: Official 2009 Japan U-20 Thread Japan lost to Valencia 2-3, will play the consolation final for 3rd place against against Villareal today (8/21), then the team will return to Japan on 8/23.
Re: Official 2009 Japan U-20 Thread Score is not out yet, and I realized we have two U20 threads and it is my fault... We can only hope that Shuvy, the merging magician will do his usual trick (If I try, we'll probably end up with four threads...)
Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Who do you think is a candidate for the NT in the future? I think Jun Suzuki got good chances (without the view of an Avispa-Fan ) He can read the game and is playing more than well at Fukuoka. He's also a good freekicker with a good left food. I see Shuichi Gonda's chances are good to join the NT in the next years. He's showing good skills between the post. Defenetly one of the big suprises in J.League 2009
Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Absolutely Kashiwa Reysol's Otsu, which I already fear will play for Urawa Reds next season...

Re: 2009 Official Youth (U20) Japanese NT Thread [R] Hello pal. Japan probably will use the same squad.
Thanks. I see Yoichiro Kakitani, who I really impressed me at U-17 level. How is he coming along? Is he playing well for his club?
