Re: FAQ - FC Dallas Why are there football lines on the field at Pizza Hut Park? The Frisco Independant School District paid $15 million towards the building of PHP and plays a handfull of high school football games there every year.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas good work! dunno if this'll really stop it, but we can at least save ourselves the trouble of typing out the explanation every time.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas Parking is free unless you were suckered into getting Gold parking when you got your season tickets.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas I think he is talking about parking for youth tournaments. Parents usually have to pay for parking @ PHP for tournaments.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas Oh. I don't have any so I don't think about kids and youth soccer when we talk about PHP.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas MODERATOR - Please update the answer to Q 7. The Inferno has moved to Section 132, effective with the 2009 season. Please add: Roja Guardia (top of 129) http://guardiarojafcd.wordpress.com/ and Los Toros (front of 126) http://www.los-toros.com/ Please add the following information to the answer for Q 9. Under the Chicago Fire paragraph add: The contest between the two teams is called the "Brimstone Cup" and a trophy is awarded to the winner. See http://www.brimstonecup.com for the history. Under the H*(&* DY(**( please add: The two teams compete for the El Capitan trophy - an 18th century Mountain Howitzer Cannon.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas Seems we need to add a new Q and A to the list. "What is the origin of calling Schellas Hyndman the "Bus Driver/Coach?" As we all know, during his highly successful initial run of games to end the '08 season, he made the famous comment about players getting on the bus or being left behind (or a similar type statement, any links to the actual quote would be greatly appreciated).
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas here are a few questions I've had, and wondered if many others have asked them Why in gods green earth did someone build a stadium in Frisco Texas, 25 miles from Dallas and 45 from Ft. Worth? How bad were the Cotton Bowl lease terms to leave such a prime location? Were there any sites considered near downtown Dallas, Ft. Worth or between the two? Lastly I'd like to state that yes I am aware Toyota Park is 15 miles from the Loop, I am frustrated with it.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas Because the team would have been folded if we didn't build a stadium and Frisco was the only place it was financially possible. Pretty bad. No revenue streams other than ticket sales, Cost: $15,000 just to open the gates, plus we had to pay security, ticket gates, police, EMS, etc. 15,000 x 15 games = minimum outlay of $225,000 (not including game day payroll costs and any games beyond the first 15) versus Cost: $100,000 for use of the stadium and the entire 17 field complex per year. All Revenues for any use of the stadium (Interliga, friendly games, concerts, etc.) or accompanying fields (league play, tournaments, etc.), parking revenues, concession revenues, lease of Stadium Club for special events, ticket revenues, etc. Yes, many, do a search for "they killed McKinny" and "suck it Laura Miller" It is what it is. I hear winning fixes a lot of things - will let you know if it does...one day.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas I live in Dallas and I'm 15 miles from the stadium and it takes me 20-30 minutes to get there.
Re: FAQ - FC Dallas I live about 23 miles from the stadium and it takes me about 30-45 (depends on traffic).
Hey, i have a question for you FC Dallas fans remember the players Ramon Nunez annd Arturo Alavrez, are they similar and who would you say is best out of the two?
