They aren't in the right place for that. I think they may be for construction purposes, but that is just a guess. Take a look at the seat map. They are not there. http://i312.photobucket.com/albums/ll343/hexagonal_bucket/IMG_0431.jpg
stadium seats come in various sizes, in the US typically they range from 19"-22" wide. They do this so the outside edges of the rows line up, giving the required stair widths. You adjust the seat widths to deal with the curvature of the stadium and the exact dimensioning of the rows. If your row is 22feet long exactly then you can install twelve 22" seats. But, if your row is 21 feet 10 inches, insert a 20" seat in the row and you are good, etc. etc. Also, on the corners the each row is a different width, so there is a lot more adjusting required. My guess is that the gaps are being left because a certain size seat has not been delivered yet. The manufacturer increases production by running all 22" seats, then all 21" seats, etc. I don't think they are color stripes because of the non-straight gap above the stadium entrance in section 120 (two to the right of center). I also don't think they are for ease of moving around because why would they not close up the gaps in 120, 119 and 118 if they are already working on 117.
Here's a crude composite I quickly did from the multiple interior angles today, 10/16/09. http://s626.photobucket.com/albums/tt346/ebbet/?action=view¤t=rb3.jpg
Would red seats look better? Blue Bull New York keeps coming to mind the last 2-3 years with all this blue on the jersey's and Seat colors instead of red.
Again, look at a red bull can. You couldn't have red seats and have the logo come out right. Amazing stadium btw. Your stadium porn makes work soo much better!
Yes! Now, let's see those seats installed. This stadium is coming together fast. Congratulations, again. ...And please make sure Angel comes back for next season.
Like I said buddy, "crude". I did it at work and all I had to work with was MS Paint. A friend wanted to get an idea of what the ground looked like and the camera's a bit of a pain to manipulate, so I threw it together. Thought someone might appreciate a peek.
Went back to the webcam Viper and that Grass field is amazing. I pray that before the doors open on March 27th, we can roll around on the grass field just to actually feel that it's there. By the way Viper. Just to let you know I've been on youtube for the past couple of days watching your fabulous work with "You Suck Corrales" as your guide. I have never laughed so hard everytime you and him are interacting with each other. PBS or HBO should have both of you do your own show. It's fabulous.
Well, thank you very much Gio. Broadcast journalism at it's best, eh. If you want to drop by and make some comment/predictions, we'll be in 16A before the game. And that goes for anyone else here. Thanks!
This may be a naive question but I'll ask anyway: Is there a process of blending the lines of each roll of sod or does the grass grow into the lines? I'm seeing on the webcam a person riding what looks like a lawn mower but the grass certainly does look more unified and less divided. Thanks!
what a ********ing beautiful ground. this with Henry and a renewed focus (we hope) next season and a marketing campaign and I would love to see 10,000 season ticket holders at least.
