Boxla fights occur more often than punchups in any of AFL, GAA or international rules.

This appears to be true ... I once was witness to a preseason game between the Baltimore Blast and Philadelphia Wings that had six brawls in it. There are also a ton of YouTube vids on the subject of this thuggery.

G'day all, I'm new and I wish Football and thugby wouldn't be lumped into one thread. They are SO far different it's not funny....

The truth is that all codes of football are celebrated here, in this forum, and rugby (both league and union) does make up a significant part of it.

I'm not saying don't celebrate them, just seperate them to differentiate. I know for a fact alot of Americans think they are the same thing, and that's a travesty. They're about as alike as American Gridiron and soccer (ie. barely at all) and I don't see those two sharing a thread anywhere....

How far do you take it? Rugby is arguably as different from league as it is from Australian football.

It's a question of demand. This thread is dormant most of the time anyway, separating it would just exacerbate that.

If anything I'd like to get the name changed to Rugby League, Union & Aussie Rules. ;)

But not in that order. ;)

I'd say that the combined rugby codes get the most posts in this forum, while Aussie Rules topics garner the most overall threads.
