A lot of those figures are wrong..in fact I wouldn't be surprised if most were not wrong. The samp chairman commented on it being incorrect...I can also point out three from the top of my head ...Del Piero and Trezeguet have cut their salary to 3.5 million and Grosso only gets 1.2 million. And these are only some of the wages I recognise.

There might be some differences, but I think on the whole those figures are close to reality.

For example when Villarreal looked at Trezegol this summer, it was reported in Spain he makes net income of 4-4.5m Euros.......and that they couldn't afford his wages. (Juve were trying to off load him to Villarreal in exchange deal)

Grosso was making gross income of approx 3.8m Euros/season with Lyon and had 2 yrs left on his agreement, so approx 2m euros net for him is not that off.

Anyway, smaller clubs always say they are not paying that kind of money, etc...

I would take ANY publications of player wages with doubts, because at least as far as I know they are NEVER officially published for privacy reasons. So, unless Gazetta claims otherwise, I'd guess some are told "off the records" by some club official or maybe a secretary, and most are probably pure guesswork. And I'm not sure they could say themselves if they always excluded taxes, always included taxes or did it sometimes with and sometimes without ;)

What are you talking about, most club when they sign or extend a player releases a press release that clearly states how much the player is being paid. Most of them even put the PDF of the press release on their website. To highlight my point:

    http://bo.asroma.it/UserFiles/966.pdf

This is a press release from AS Roma that states the contract extension of Alberto Aquilani and exactly how much he will be paid.

This is of course old, but since we haven't bought anyone this summer it was the only press release I could find on the site to prove my point. You can edit those number (966.pdf) and go forward or back and look through the press releases. You will find that whenever a player is signed they specify the exact amount the player will be receiving before taxes.

I'm willing to bet you could do the same on many clubs websites.

No Trezeguet cut his wages 2 years ago to 3.5 million...as did Del Piero this summer...a 1.5 million difference is quite a big difference. Also Grosso makes 1.2 million at Juve and this is a fact...nearly 50% diff...I don't think that counts as an approximation.

    Yep.... you are 100% correct........
It's not a big secret, everytime a player signs , Gazzetta, his agent and /or Club states his Net income per season.
And I know from reading Spainish dailys, they talk about it openly and so does the Bristish Media.......
Not a big secret as people claim..

    ============

OH REALLY....... This is as of 2/09....
R80 Salary went up from 6.5m to 7.5m euros for 09/10 season, per his contract.

You really are clueless aren't you...First you just guess to justify the article that you posted and then you proceed to use out of date and incorrect sources.

    Here:

    Grosso: http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/juventus/?action=read&idnotizia=8390

    That's 1.2 million a year.

    Del Piero: http://www.calcioblog.it/post/4130/del-piero-firma-ridotto-lingaggio-e-rinnovo-fino-al-2010

Del Piero will earn 4 million 1st year and 3.5 million second...making it 3.75 million a year. This was 2 years ago and he renewed his contract this summer which will of course is lower. So 3.5 is probably even an underestimate.

Trezeguet: Can't find link but I distinctly remember an article about his contract 2 years ago being 4.5 million the first 2 years and then 3-3.5 million for the remaining years which starts now hence it being 3-3.5.

In essence you know absolutely nothing..please refrain yourself for making further baseless comments.

Do yourself a favor, learn some manners....
Just because you don't agree with data provided from gazzetta, telegraph and other sources that I posted, that stated trezegol Salary @ 4.5m euro,
and Grosso 2m euros ......that doesn't give the right be rude.
Also, I never disputed ADP info you stated.

AGAIN... Most of these figures by gazzetta and telegraph , etc are not that off.......

Re: Mourinho tops salary scale + Club wage bills (Serie A 2009/2010)

No it gives me the right to correct you. Furthermore calling you clueless is rather apt, seeing as you provided incorrect data twice without checking them i.e the telegraph and gazzetta most likely used the first 2 years of Trezeguet's contract...and Grosso is just wrong since it is well known it's only 1.2 million since he cut it by 0.5 million to accomodate Lyon's demands.

The point being made about the figures was that if my limited knowledge of only 3 players' contracts showed mistakes then most likely the whole list is riddled with them hence making it worthless.

P.S A difference of 30% in wages is a rather large number to dismiss as 'not that off'. I suppose when one is proven wrong one must clutch at straws.

So your reply is to keep posting the same erroneous data from gazzetta which I proved were wrong? I get it....you have nothing else to add...thanks for taking part.

    ItalianMike thanks for the link....
Gross wages reported by AS Roma for Silveria Dos Santos Juan = €4.5m for 09/10

Net reported by gazzetta for Juan = €2.25 for 09/10

Top Tax Rate in Italy is 43% + SS Tax and other taxes (total witholding)
    ends being 48-50%

    Machida,

There is absolutely no reason for you to be so mean spirited and disrespectful to other posters, even if you disagree with the information they are posting. Please try and be a bit more tolerated and don't jump the gun and begin throwing out cheap insults. It's immature and serves absolutely no purpose.

'Clueless'...in this context meaning a lack of knowledge and understanding of the facts and figures. If you think that's an insult maybe this moderation business has got to you...

Ya its wierd, Lotito wouldn't give Pandev the raise but they ended up signing Cruz for 1.8 million

Think of it this way, Pandev is getting payed 450 000 to sit on a bench, therefore he will be overpaid this season;)

I'm sorry but Lazio run there squad backwards, Cruz is 34 and is in the twilight of his career, while Pandev is only 24 and could get better.

not backwards, but probably not straight forward either.

lotito wants pandev and ledesma to honor their low-paying deals, not re-negotiate new ones mid-contract. He's making a statement, but its costing the team.
