:) Hope you will drop M. Haifa and just support Beitar.

    But anyway...

Gustavsohn...off topic..what the deal with him? He played for Sweden NT but he is born in America. He was the GK for Red Bull Salzburg in the match vs. Haifa...

Not that it really has anything to do with what we are talking about, but Norrköping was one of 3 cities(stockholm and gothenburg being the two others) in sweden were jews where allowed to live and work back in 1782.

Eddie Gustavsson in salzburg...hmm..dont think he is jewish, but im not sure.

Eddie Gustafsson is Swedish by virtue of his father being Swedish even though he was born in the United States.

As I keep trying to reiterate in this thread, just because a person has a Jewish surname or Jewish sounding surname, it doesn't mean that we should even discuss them until there is proof. C'mon people, scour the net in different languages and come back only with those that you have proof on.

well with a name like Cohen, how could you assume otherwise??
There has to be Jewish blood in him, unless of course he changed his name to Cohen, which I really doubt he did.
Come on, COHEN! Has to be some Yiddish blood in him.

Maybe this guy can be interesting for this topic even if he does not play football anymore. He is considered as the best french jewish player ever. He played some games with the national team and he was one ot the star of PSG (Paris). Today, he is the owner of a successful restaurant in the south of France.

Welcome, Ohaime, to the forum. The subject is really about current players who could play in Israel and/or the national team. Michael Madar doesn't fit in but if enough people want it, we will make a list of retired Jewish footballers.

Yeah! In think it's a good idea to make a list about retired jewish players but only about famous and notable ones and Michael Madar was realy a great star in the 90's in France.

William Ayache was effectively Jewish (born in Algeria). He had a reputation of very aggressive defender. In the 80s, he played 20 matches with the french national team in the Platini period. Even if I'm too young (22 years old), I know him because he played for my favourite team: Olympique Marseille as Marc Lévy did in the 80's, (jewish born in Algeria too), in the position of goalkeaper.
For the anecdote, the regional journalist the most known in Marseille is named Avi Assouly who is a Moroccan Jew. We see him in the TV, he commentates games in radio and he has got a website.
Definitly Joel Bats is not jewish.
And about today I think that Sébastien Corchia who is the new young talented player of "Le Mans" (french ligue 1) is jewish. He has got a typical jewish moroccan name. Indeed some friends of mine have this family name and they are off course jewish.

Sorry for my poor english, I'm just a french guy... :D

That article is great. The author claims that Kaká, Pablo Aimar, Mark Schwarzer, David Rozehnal, Julio César Manzur, Selim Benachour, Josh Wolff and Roy Makaay are Jewish. I think he is basing his information off what a lot of people do here, they see a Jewish surname or sounding surname and make assumptions.

    Re: Noad Ivri

    Here is a real one:
    http://www.one.co.il/Article/143794.html

Noad Ivri, 19 year old Norwegian who was last with Vålerenga 2 and formerly with FC Lyn Oslo.

Managed only to find a few links with his name in them:
    http://www.n3sport.no/07/result.aspx?MatchId=3698726
    http://idrett.speaker.no/07/result.aspx?WCI=wiResults&WCU=3307272
    http://pub.tv2.no/multimedia/na/archive/00706/_rsberetning_2008_-_706985a.pdf

It would be nice if Bnei Yehuda signed him. The last Norwegian we got was Dan Alberto Fellus and he never managed to even get a match in with Hakoah.

We need him to have a flirt with the Israeli media in order to substantiate this. Tell him to come out with some headline like he would like to play for the Israeli national team!

Are players who are on facebook actually the players themselves?

Most of them seem to be fakes that have 1500 friends.....

    Anyway...
Anyone talked about Igor Karpovich. 21 year old from Belarus who plays in FC Sherrif in Moldova. Sounds Jewish.........

sounds Belarusian, undoubtedly. If we talk about surname...
