Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] So the new Bari coach wants to bring Uchida in? I don't think it is a necessarily bad choice to play for a newly-promoted side. He will get more chances to play than at an established club. Also think that it would be good for defenders his age to go especially to Serie A, to get some cleverness.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] I think it's rather unrealistic too. The rumour is from yesterday, today Bari is presenting a new coach.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] http://excite.co.jp/News/sports/20090628/Sponichi_kfuln20090628002001.html FSV Mainz who got promoted to the Bundesliga is reported to be interested in signing Takahara. It's a ok team, may not be the richest but a seriously-led team. Mainz due to proximity to Frankfurt is a rival of Eintracht Frankfurt, not a fierce one though. Let's see if Takahara really goes/comes again to Germany.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Norio Suzuki signed to Angers SCO (France, Ligue 2) http://www.angers-sco.fr/actualites/924/
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] That somehow reminds me of Matsui's move to then division 2-team Le Mans. Any chance the club gets promoted? http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/forum/154/geruechtekueche/thread/851276/anzeige.html News from Germany... Felix Magath (Schalke04) is testing DM Naoya Kikuchi (currently contracted at 3rd division outfit Carl Zeiss Jena), probably because Germany-, eh..., now US-midfielder Jermaine Jones is injured. You know Magath brought Hasebe and Okubo to Wolfsburg, so he seems to like Japanese players. If Kikuchi gets this move and some playing time I wonder if the JFA accepts him back BTW Yano stays at Albirex (big no-news of the day)
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Good for Suzuki, he has been in Europe a while now , training with different clubs? Why would Magath try him? Is he even that good? I can't remember seeing him play. And why should'nt Takahara give Bundesliga one more chance? The other day i said that it was weird that clubs in Europe wanted him and Yano but Taka could make it, and also good that Yano stays in Japan.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Kikuchi: didn't see him play, but supporters of Jena are saying in the forum (German lang-link provided above) that he was unlucky that he was injured for a long time but when he recovered early this year he became an essential squad member, and for many times the best player for Jena. Still, this was 3rd division, so general view is sceptical, but we have to see if Magath likes what he sees at the trial. Takahara: He is a good forward but when he was at HSV and Eintracht, apart from minor injuries got the impression that he is a very sensible guy. So as long as his coach trusts him he will pay him back with goals but when he does not play he will lose confidence and then his form. But a club like FSV Mainz might be the right address!
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Angers wasn't that far from the top last year. They competed for promotion until they fell apart 6 or 7 matches before the end and finished 7th. It will be hard next year with Strasbourg, Nantes, Metz, Le Havre and Caen being favorites for the 3 promotion spots but if Boulogne/sur mer did it last year, Angers can do it too ! This year's 3rd GK of Bordeaux, young and very good Kevin Olimpa signed there too (on loan), so I will keep an eye on Angers and hope they do well.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Good luck to him and the team! With the summer break in Europe there is new speculation everyday now. FSV Mainz (Bundesliga, also interested in signing Takahara) and FC Sion according to Swiss magazine '4-4-2' interested in Tulio: Japanese: http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20090630-00000024-spn-socc German: http://www.4-4-2.com/displaynews/date/2009/06/28/tulios-name-wird-weiter-gehandelt.html Source mentions that AS Roma, Napoli, Olympique Marseille, Hoffenheim, Spartak Moskau, Fulham, Eintracht Frankfurt, Arminia Bielefeld, Bochum and Nürnberg are all looking at him. Juve and Inter who at one point were candidates are less likely to succeed in getting him as Tulio only wants to join a club where he will be playing regularly.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Interesting, please keep posting rumours everyday If it's one player that deserves a chance in Europe it's Tulio.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] norio was only in france for 2 weeks before he signed. the club has been interested in him for awhile.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] I think I read that he had a trial a year or 2 ago with Angers, but meanwhile he was playing at Vissel. Apparently, he made a good impression back then and the club found his phone number
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] http://www.express.de/nachrichten/s...tuna-feste-deutsch_artikel_1242632502716.html Yuki Kozo (30) going trial with Fortuna Duesseldorf. Newly promoted Bundesliga 2 side. Not that important but transfers like this are crucial to making Japanese abroad more casual. This and Suzuki's one.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] ... and sometimes it may not seem important but with a little bit of luck 1, 2 years later we get another Matsui. I like this kind of news, they may be small stories but they show that these guys are hungry. Something which can not always be said about players in the NT. And, as you say, it makes Japanese players more casual and paves the way for coming generations.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Mainz manager denied being interested in Takahara. And Schalke 04 signed a Greek player for defensive midfield, so Kikuchi probably not likely to join them. Anyway, I wrote that Kikuchi is contracted at Jena but apparently he is out of contract, my bad. But this may work for him as there is no transfer fee eligible.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] The rumours get denied as fast as they arrive But silly season is often very fun, i hope there will be 3 or 4 new signings..
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] I think that Germany has been good to many Japanese players. Except Okubo and maybe Inamoto/Ono.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Yes true, well sometimes it seems that summer break has its own dynamic and maybe this thread is helping to fuelling rumours too In the end, I will be happy if maybe 2, 3 new faces would come to Europe or some old faces too Ono btw has contract until 6/2010 in Bochum, and I think he will play when he is fit. His coach Koller is at least not forgetting him, Ono needs just to stay injury-free for a couple of months.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Okey thanks. That is the key I think. I hope he will stay fresh for the most part of the next season, and he really need a fcking goal soon before the Bochum fans gets tired of him.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Ono had a cursed season, just 8 league matches 08/09 and none of them was a full match. German site transfermarkt (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/spieler/4379/shinji-ono/aufeinenblick.html) lists up his injuries and illnesses of which he had 5 last season. I didn't see him play live but I saw him in a digest on TV playing away to Hoffenheim and he looked sharp and had an assist. And as opposed to the NT he has more of an attacking role when he plays at Bochum, so when preseason goes well I think (hope) he will find the net soon...
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Daisuke Matsui is in Kyoto until the 8th and he is practicing with Sanga. I nearly had a heart attack when I recognized him! I had no idea he was there! He is really of another level when it comes to ball control. Even Diego was checking out his tricks! After training, he spoke for a good 30m with Coach Kato. As he greeted the fans, I told him that when he comes back to Japan, he MUST come back to Kyoto. He nodded back and smiled. Well, good luck to him in Grenoble anyway.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Anyone see Hiroshi Ibusuki play this season? He's only 18 and he's pretty tall 1.93 m. He's a forward who plays for Girona in the 2nd division of Spain. 5 appearances. Seems like a future prospect.
