No I just got this one like on Saturday I think, I was being dumb trolling on the Mexican forums, telling them how my players from Alianza, Aguila, Fas, and Metapan were better than their Mexcan players in Europe stuff like that.

    Honduras starting 11:
    ------------Valladares------
    Sabillon-Chavez-Figueroa-Izaguirre
    Nuñez--Palacios-Guevara(C)--De Leon
    -------Costly-------Pavon---

2 changes from Saturday, Beata was taken out and Izaguirre came in to the spot Figueroa played last week and Figueroa moved to the middle where Beata was.
And De Leon came in for Thomas. Amado moves a little further back it seems.

Honduras was lucky to win. They really played poorly, especially in 2nd half. El Salvador didn't have a playmaker to take advantage of Honduras lazy 2nd half. Also, I was very disappointed in Leon, he really was bad. Glad Honduras won, but certainly lots of room for improvement.

Ufff!!!! We barely won, i was nervous throughout the whole game bcuz we let El Salvador play their game and we missed our chances, we havent been playing as well as we could, next game against Costa Rica we have to play better if we want to win

We played bad missing a coupe of makable chances but El Salvador had something to do with that as well. I am really disappointed in our midfield. I mean Lean, Palacios, Guevara, and nunez and we get outplayed in the midfield in Concacaf? I think Rueda needs to step his game up.

This was a bad game, horrible taste in my mouth from this game. Thank god we pulled it, but feck, we did not go forward. The mentality is score one and hold the dfense. Where is the killer instinct?

I love saprissa and sometimes the CRNT, so you are right no love whatsoever for the bicolor

FT 1-0, just like we beat them at Saprissa`s Stadium, ES is tough, they are not skillfull players, but they play with balls, I respect them more after every game, they shouldnt have lost tonight

I watched the game, and i gotta say im dissapointed. Despite scoring a nice goal, honduras struggled to get anything going they looked tactically horrid. Honduras needs to improve the way the play cause they kinda looked lost in the field. We cant play like this against Costa Rica or Trinidad in the upcoming fixtures.

You know the word bunker is thrown around a lot around here; personally i don't like it. But i find it funny how everyone thinks that when El Salvador plays away, it's going to be all defence to avoid a heavy defeat. Truth is today, if anyone bunkered it was Honduras. And obviously, to make it worse, they did it at home.

Overall though, i'll give Honduras credit for doing a great job at closing down the wings. Apart from a few crosses by our LWB and RWB we had very little impact playing down the lines. Our traditional wingers (Castillo and Martinez) did close to nothing, and Honduras' defence on the wings had a lot to do with that. They were also very dangerous on the counter.

In the end though, it's dissapointing to lose the way we did. I mean i don't think anyone would deny that El Salvador had the majority of the possession and that most of the game was played in Honduras' own half. And with that, we should have at the very least scored one goal and left there with a point. We had our chances, but just couldn't get them to go in. But that's football. Now it's time to regroup, and focus on Trinidad in August. A game, which in my opinion is a must win for our guys if we want to have any chance of qualfiying in the top four.

If Fito was available who knows what the score would have been. I feel terrible. Rudis Corrales can't do jack, he really just holds the ball and that's it. He missed terribly infront of goal.
FITO AND ARTURITO TO BE FORWARDS AND WE WILL WIN MORE.

I wish we would've scored on the first chance, I think this game should've been a tie, Honduras dominated the firs half, El Salvador the second.

Honduras controled the play for about 15 minutes after they scored the goal. Before that, it was very even; and after that, it was all us. Atleast that's how i saw it :D

He's a Tico.. what do you expect

I wouldn't say we Got Lucky as we created way more clear scoring opportunities than E.S. but we definately didn't play to our potential, everyone knows that. The defense looked pretty good, that should be our starting back 4 for the rest of the qualifiers, they didnt really give the Salvies any breathing space up top, smart decision by Rueda to put Figgy back in the center, that's where he plays best. Our Midfield looked ok, not the best game they've played. I think De Leon played a pretty bad game for his standards. Amado missed that clear goal in the 92nd minute, that would have def. sealed the deal. Costly played good. alot of heart and courage, props to him. Well it was important to win and they got the job done, its 3 points we desperately needed. No se jugo bonito, pero se saco el resultado. Costa Rica is on deck.

    These are my player ratings.
Valladares- 6, not really challenged most of the game but he didn't make any errors and came out on a couple corners when he should have.

    Defense
Sabillon- 6.5, He gave us speed down the flanks and fought for every ball and never stopped running, messed up on some passes but he is human. Good game.

Izaguirre- 6, Also provided speed down the flanks on the left side, was good on his tackles and never really lost his man. Decent showing.

Osman Chavez- 5.5 I didn't like some of his clearances in the back, especially one with his head that left the ball 20 yards out and led to a dangerous E.S. shot, could improve alot on that aspect.

Figueroa- 7 Good game, he was calm in the back and played really smart, his air game is phenomenal, he was getting his head on everything being crossed in the box by the Salvadorians.

    Mid
Palacios- 7.5 A good outing for him. Got a yellow card early but he made his presence felt throughout the whole game, ALL his passes were accurate and he was destroying everything the Salvadorians brought down the middle, Alot of heart from this guy tonight, he was the MOTM in my opinion.

Guevara- 6 Not his best game, but he played better than he did Vs. the USA got more involded in the game and him Palacios and Nunez made some quick combination touches and were moving the ball around nicely in the middle.

De Leon- 4.5 He had a BAD game, I haven't seen him this out of a game in a while. He seemed lost, and when he got the ball he was the least accurate out of the midfielders.

Nunez- 6 Much like Guevara, not his best but a better performance than his last, he got involded alot more and was creating alot of the offensive play for the Bicolor.

    Forwards.
Costly- 7 He was winning balls, holding the ball, accurate passes, playing with HEART, the only thing missing was the goal and he had 2 good chances, Too bad it didnt come but overall he has impressed me the most in the past 2 games for the Catrachos.

Pavon- 6.5 His goal was HUGE, he was also playing with heart, slowed down alot in the second half, he is 35 years old, I think Rueda should have took him out at like the 6o minute mark but didn't, well thats his 51st goal with the NATS, all hail the Catrachos all time leading scorer.

    Subs

Martinez- 5.5 Very inaccurate in his touches, came in for a much more efficient Nunez, brought fresh legs and at least he was running.

Thomas- He didn't play enough to get a good rating. same goes for Turcios and Bernardez.

El Salvador picked up the pace in the second half but didnt really create any clear chances, Honduras will have to play much better against Costa Rica to get a win. But i see it within reach. 3 golden points.

I went to see the game in circuito cerrado.

Honduras did NOT impress me. I think El Salvador deserved a draw. They had more possession in the 2nd half than Honduras and during the 1st half they almost scored a goal it was very close. Honduras was lucky to come out with a victory playing as bad as they did.

Why it is that everybody plays badly when they play El Salvador?
USA, Honduras, Mexico, T&T (According to Warlord)?

Add Costa Rica to that list. Their 1-0 win over ES at home was ugly and needed a late goal.

From what I see, on the road especially, El Salvador plays very compactly in midfield, with its forwards almost serving as extra midfielders to disrupt any attacks starting out of the back.

It's not bunkering, which would invite crosses from closer in, it's more like heavy midfield congestion.

They've now scored 2 goals in all 3 of their home games and 0 goals in each of their road games. This tells me that they are capable of having a better attack on the road but are too restrained.

Road teams usually like to have quick counters and ES seemed to pull back for possession instead every time they got a turnover in midfield. I don't think they believe in their ability to counter.

I think ES, has shown alot of heart, maybe the lack of a killer instinct held them back yesterday. But footy is not about deserving its about scoring. Honduras had more clearcut chances with less possesion in the 2nd half.
Amado should not be playing btw.
