GauchoYoungin brought us the Colorado news. The other guy is a newbie. Neither have 'Aztex' as their team. I suspect they're interlopers. They should go away if we ignore them.
True, the Axtex are not a team I follow but with COB coming your way I will start. He didn't appear in the last game b/c he was still driving down from CO. He should be there now or at least at sometime soon. Definitely wouldn't be one to bring lies. As for the other guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm glad that a horrible striker in the MLS can go be the third best in Paraguay. What that means to me is that soccer in the USA is better than that of Paraguay. Not everyday you find someone obsesses with Carlos Ruiz though. That's a new one for me. So yea Aztex fans, wasn't trolling, just wanted to provide info and then got into it unfortunately with a newbie on a guy I know and a team/school I support and love.
Aztex add Colorado Rapids midfielder to roster The team called Real Salt Lake’s Jean Alexandre for Friday’s game against Puerto Rico on a short-term loan. Despite an impressive outing, Alexandre’s loan wasn’t renewed and he has returned home. O’Brien joins Jeff Harwell and Kyle Helton who were both called up from the U23 squad on amateur agreements. Jerry Saintil was with the team on a similar agreement, but returned home due to personal reasons.
So, we now have two Ryans, two 'Keiron's, a Lyle and a Kyle. Or two, depending on how long Kyle Helton plays for the USL1 team. Everyone gets called by their last names, I'll bet!
A big congrats to Willy "Speed" Guadarrama who was called up by FC Dallas yesterday to play a friendly match against A Costa Rican primera team. Do you guys think if he dont make it in Dallas he could land a spot on the USL team?
Wow. That's weird. And interesting. Being as he already has a spot on the u23s. ...or does he? He played 3 games. I wonder what the deal is. Seems really odd that he wasn't called up when we were in such a desperate need for players, but then ends up in Dallas.
Exactly what i was thinking, we could of used him when Gifton, EJ, and Sulli were injured but i really hope he stays in Dallas since he never got a chance to show his skills with KC Wizards. Yeah i remember him playing for the U-23's, and scoring against DFW tornados maybe some FC Dallas scouts were present? Lets hope for the best
Somehow I have a very uneasy feeling about this: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1068977 http://blogs.chron.com/soccer/archives/2009/06/dynamo_loan_3_t.html
Why? Just more evidence that we have a very close relationship with Houston. ...oh, it means we have several players that are going to be out more. Yeah, well, I'm pretty much resigned to this season being a rough one. ...they'd better treat our regulars reasonably well in practice, though. No taking them out to soften us up for the 1st.
No. Just that we play HouStank in the Open Cup. Houston players "scouting" Aztex players for coach Dom? Not as much as your Open Cup Pride of losing to USL-1 teams 2 years in a row. Remember the Charleston Battery?
Well considering who we've lost in the last couple of matches, Johnson, Gallardo, and now Alvarez??? All I can say is, scouting us or not scouting us, thank god for H-town loan players. Between that god awefull pitch, the sheer rate of injures, and the fact that the season is barely less then half way done. We're gonna look like this come Sept. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SjoUqXh5MU"]YouTube - Antietam: Then & Now (photos)[/ame] In the end, if we turn it around and push on, and do well enough to make the playoffs after all this bad form and with such young players and with soo many injuries, my god that will proove to me that we got quite a stoic bunch of young men playin for our colors, and IMHO the future will look bright, here's hopin.
The who and the what? I dont quite remember the Battery, but I'm sure the players we sent to the Aztex do, considering they are the ones that played.
all right u 2 save it for "a" rivals thread. Getting the thread back on track. If I had a direct say in Inchy and Phils decision making policies, in regards to who we sign and get on loan, I'd look at Defensive Midfielders/Wing Backs who can distribute and hold effectively in traffic but who's main skill is sheer defensive quickness, so we can stop a forward movement/through ball at least every once in awhile. These two new houston boys are a Mid and a Def but does the above describe either one of them I wonder?
Ideally if we could get a holding midfielder with good distribution skills I think that would solve a lot of issues. Maybe we'd even play with the entire width of the field rather than only 2/3 of it. I think we need a little more cover at DC too - with Kieron out, we're awfully bare there. Gareth is just not a good DC.
Do you guys need a little speed on the wings? Johann Smith, a former U-20 international, was released by Toronto FC. He can be employed as a striker but I think he's better on the wings. Smith has speed to burn and a decent touch and cross. If wings were an issue I'd be jumping all over Smith if I were the Aztex.
Well it's "Defensive Speed" in general that we need, especially on the wings because attackers just seems to run, whoever we have out their, ragged.
Has anybody ever heard of a goalkeeper named Bobby Shuttleworth, in particular him having anything to do with the Aztex? This was on OurSportsCentral yesterday, but I've never heard of him:
Maybe I am wrong here but I would prefer for Phil and Heath to get AZTEX players and stop this influx of loaners. I don't want the Aztex to become the "farm team", remember MLS did away with MLS2 two years ago, where Houston and Dallas send their young prospects for playing time. We need a roster of dedicated AZTEX players not only for continuetiy but also so that the fans can identify themselves with the team and help grow the fan base. Our team already has a lot of issues with system of play. Imagine throwing 2 new kids in every other game, no way this could work in our favor. I go back to the columbus game in preseason, thats the team I hope comes back.
I totally agree. Injuries have just blown up that team. Right now the organization is just looking to put some health bodies on the field. I don't think becoming an mls farm team is anyone's desire. But if injuries force your hand for a while, what can you do?
That's what I feel has been missing. I'm pretty sure Caugherty was benched because he wasn't able to give us what we need there. Callahan has been better, sometimes. But if memory serves, he racked up a lot of fouls in the Carolina game. Don't know how he did against Rochester.
