Did anyone watch Fox Sports Espanol today and get some narrators speaking English?

I don't think I did anything to change my TV or cable box set up; in fact, during the commercials, it's all in Spanish.

I hope it's just today - these Latino guys try hard but it just sounds so weird. If I wanted quality English-language narration of soccer, I'd turn to Setanta sports for the English Premiership.

On your remote control, Press 'menu' and look for 'Languages', and it should give you the option of Spanish or English. If your system is like mine you should be able to pick either language.

Did you catch River Plate, or Prata whatever you call it? They need to stop playing La Copa, they embarrass the country. :D

Yeah I fixed it, I somehow changed the SAP settings on my cable box. Odd. I just re-watched the end of the Nacional match and I never thought it'd be such a relief to hear Fernando NiembrAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA over some clueless Latino dude trying to sound like a knowledgeable soccer commentator.

I didn't watch the whole thing... no time. But I did DVR it and I skimmed it.

It's what I told you a few weeks ago; except for your team, your country's teams aren't doing too well this year. Estudantes da Prata seems to be making a comeback; we'll see when they host Cruzeiro this week. But Rio da Prata... I just read an Argentine online daily to try to find out why the Nacional fans were gloating so much. Turns out one guy from CARP (Fabianni?) had talked trash about Nacional before the game and now the Uruguayans were making him pay for it.

And now Rio da Prata may not even qualify from a group with unimpressive sides such as Nacional (Paraguay) and Universidad San Martin (who tied 1-1, keeping CARP at 3rd place)? Tsk tsk tsk...

I still don't get your signature, Century's Best. It's an online website that the comment was left on: for all you know the guy could be a Brazilian pretending to be Argentine. But even if he/she really is Argentinean, why does it matter that some random person said that? I'd understand if it were an important Argentine figure such as Maradona, but it's a random guy that nobody knows.

Sorry to get off topic with the thread. I've just been curious about it for a while.

It's an allusion to the soccer rivalry that exists between our countries, clubs, etc.

That an Argentine fan said this means more than a Brazilian, no? A Brazilian can easily brag about Brazil as an Argentine can brag about Argentina. It means more when the "enemy" says it. ;)

Right, I get the idea. But my question is, how much importance does it have when in reality it's a random person that nobody knows (and might not even be an Argentina fan)? Especially to have it as your signature for such a long time (over a year now).

Oh well.. it's just my perspective.

He was Argentine. He was writing about how he thought Argentina was playing poorly and how at the pace Brazil has done in recent World Cups, that we Brazilians would get to have 8 or 9 World Cup titles in a few tournaments' time. Besides, I am not one to make stuff up just to have a spiffy signature on some online bulletin board.

The sad thing is that the group is so pathetic that, even as bad as they've been, River still can probably advance, if they beat San Martin.

Re: COPA LIBERTADORES 2009-grp stage (r)

YAY for me!

but first they have to win in Paraguay, if they loose then most likely probably not.

As crap as Nacional is, River only beat them with an offsides goal at the Monumental. So I could see them only tieing or even losing in Paraguay.

It would be emberressing for River if they don't get out of a weak group such as theirs.

Honestly though, I don't think there are any weak groups in this copa.

Nacional is playing awesome, San Martin is solid, especially at home and the only exception is Nacional (Par.) who are pretty bad. But it's competitive for a reason.

The way River plays, the way Gallardo takes on the team. I really doubt River has any chance in beating Nacional (PAR).
Besides San Martin will beat (NAC-URU) easily? perhaps not, but San Martin has not lost any games as local.
